Fall 2015 Cheerleading
Paperwork turn in date: Monday, July 27th at 4pm in the school lobby OR at any of the open gyms at school on Mondays 4:30-6pm.
All Candidates for Fall Sports:
In order to participate in athletics at Westminster High School, all candidates must complete the Carroll County Athletic Forms Packet and turn it in to the head coach or the Athletic Director, Mr. Terry Molloy. The packets can be found at the following locations:

Student-athletes/parents must print out and complete all documents in the link entitled Required Paperwork. It is also very important for student-athletes/parents to read all documents in the link entitled Informational Packet.
The Required Paperwork packet must be completed, signed by a physician, parent and student and returned to the head coach prior to or on the first day of tryouts. If your physical form from the previous year is still valid (less than a year old) indicate that on the 3rd page of the packet. If you do not have the ability to print off the required paperwork, packets are available in the main office of the school. You may not turn these packets in to the main office.
Concussion Testing: All candidates must also have completed concussion baseline testing prior to the first day of tryouts. Testing is good for two years from the date of the test. Testing opportunities are being made available now. Testing will begin promptly at 3:00pm in the WHS Media Center on the following dates: May, 26, 27; June 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. You only have to attend one testing date. Candidates must bring the completed “Sports Concussion Testing Program and Release Information” form with them on the day of their test; this form can be obtained at the above web sites, through the coach, or through the main office.
Fall try-outs begin Wednesday, August 12 and all candidates are expected to be in attendance. Practices will be held every day after, excluding Sundays and/or other dates as determined by the coach.

MDE/MD Cheer and Dance Energy w/ Nikao- 6355 South Carroll Park Drive, Eldersburg, MD
Sunday classes set up exclusively for anyone interested in WHS cheer. Every Sunday at 10am for $10 drop in fee. Come when you can, no need to sign up for a session, just pay as you go. Nikao will work on all levels of tumbling from beginner to advanced and also half a class on Stunting skills.

Beginner Tumbling Camp: This camp is intended for those that have little or no experience. It is a great way to "try it out" and see if tumbling is an activity the student would like to continue. Students will practice skills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, backbend kickovers, etc. Thursday, June 18, 2015 - 9:00 - 11:00am $30/participant Pre-registration required.
Intermediate Tumbling Camp: More complex tumbling skills will be introduced as basic tumbling skills are mastered. This camp will provide drills and progressions for back walkovers, front walkovers, back handsprings, and front handsprings. Training regimens are designed to be challenging yet fun! A backwalk-over is required to attend this camp. Thursday, June 18, 2015 - 11:30am - 1:30pm $30/participant Pre-registration required.
Advanced Tumbling Camp With Yuri: Experienced tumblers will work on skills such as tucks, layouts, fulls, double fulls, punch fronts, whips, arabians, and more! A minimum of a strong standing and round-off back handspring series is required to attend this camp. Thursday, June 18, 2015 - 10:00am - 12:00pm $30/participant Pre-registration required.
Stunt Camp: This camp is for experienced flyers AND athletes with an interest in flying, even if they don't have any experience. There will be a focus on flyer responsibilities such as body control, flexibility, and proper positioning. This is a challenging curriculum with an emphasis on having fun! This stunt camp will help athletes prepare for 2015-2016 flyer evaluations.

Summer Cheer and Tumble Camp:
This camp is perfect for those new to cheerleading, as well as, Recreational and All Star cheerleaders up through level 2. The curriculum will consist of 1.5 hours of tumbling instruction and 1.5 hours of cheer instruction per day. Campers will improve basic cheerleading skills (jumps, stunts, motions, and dance). Campers will perfect existing tumbling skills and progress to new skills as appropriate. There will be a parent performance at the end of the week!!

3 days - (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) - $100/participant
Before and aftercare available for $10 perhour per child
