Genesis Power Sports Performance is focused on improving strength, agility, vertical height, and core stability while implementing injury prevention techniques to decrease the risk of overuse and more severe injuries.
The strengthening and injury prevention techniques are based from an ACL injury prevention program from Cincinnati Sports Medicine called Sportsmetrics. This is the only research based injury prevention program in the US. By using these techniques we can improve stability in core muscles and improve mechanics of jumping and landing.
The girls will complete 30 minutes of strengthening/ injury prevention per practice. The program progresses from being focused solely on mechanics to increased jumping and strengthening as the season progresses to allow adaptation the program.
We are partnering with Genesis PSP this year for our volleyball fitness training. Matt Rokes, Physical Therapist will be developing the program along with Janelle. Janelle will implement the plan as part of drills. As a player for QCE you will get:
- Free athlete evaluation of strength, agility, vertical leap, speed, etc
- Free Injury screens available at Sports Town on Tuesday evenings during competitive season
- Group discounts to athletes interested in PSP programming - $100 off per session at PSP
Congrats to all of our Seniors from 2012/2013 Season - they all signed to play collegiate ball.
Congratulations to Kelsey Jackson (second to right back row) who was nominated and made the All Academic Team for Windy City Power League (WCPL). All WCPL Coaches nominated players who had a GPA of 3.5 and above. Over 500 players were nominated. Out of those 500 players, voting took place and the 15 standout players in each age group were chosen for the 2013/2014 award. Kelsey was chosen for the U15 age group. Kelsey traveled to Chicago for the awards ceremony. Kelsey - your positive attitude, great work ethic and team oriented approach to volleyball make you a standout for us too. Keep up the good work.
