18U wins the Perfect Game Memorial Classic in Arizona

So Cal Elite has won its biggest tournament up to date as they win their first Showcase out of state. After prior semi final finishes, Elite was able to come through with tremendous heart and effort. Everyone game seem like we were the under dogs, going through a rich prospect team in Diamondbacks scout team and Angels Elite, Tucson Cowboys, Playa Vista. We faced the 2012 Angels Elite scout team once again, after beating them in pool play. They always say its hard to beat the same team twice and our boys were very aware of that as we battled after trailing 2-0 for 6 innings. We tied it 2-2 in the bottom of the 6th and pulled it out with a close play at home for a walk off hit and a 3-2 victory. Our boys showed guts with scrappy play and just found ways to pull out victory after victory and solid pitching n defense. We hope this will put us in the national ranking once again n more prestigious invites to the top showcases around. Never been so proud of a team like this. Hope we all had a great time with everlasting fond memories.. Go Elite!!!

14U Runner up in Perfect Game Memorial Classic, 16's go 2-2

Great job by boys this holiday weekend. Most of our boys were experiencing their first showcase. 14s went undefeated during pool play-3-0 then played rawlings during semi final at the Camlback Ranch Stadium and came out with a 13-0 victory. Unfortunately we weren't able to maintain the hot bats as we faced the tough SCNTT and lost a heart breaker 5-2 as our late rally came up short. Overall, we were really proud of our boys as they played hard and came out with some good true baseball experience and got the chance to play in the stadium 2 games.

Our 16s had a tough pool play as we seemed to face everyones ace and our bats just were not clicking. We did finish strong in our consolation game as our pitched Nick Carrillo and Jared Davila combined on a No hitter with a 5-1 victory..

Adam Hofacket and Frank Mora,Cody Schuster pick colleges.

A big congrats to Frank Mora(Austin Texas) for committing to Northwood University in Texas. We had the pleasure of coaching Frank at East Cobb Georgia for 2 weeks this pass summer. We are not surprise that Frank has earn a scholarship since he is a hard worker and very committed to his studies and athletic career.

Also another of our Elite players makes his choice, Adam Hofacket who gave his verbal to Cal Baptist University. What a journey for Adam as he has encounter some devastating injuries. His hard work and will to come back has paid off as he is back to throwing 90 MPH. The future is very bright and the Elite family wants to congratulate the Hofackett family.

Cody Schuster, Las Vegas was our best hitter during last summers WWBA 17U at east cobb georgia. With Codys great offensive numbers and high GPA, he obtain a Academic/athletic Scholarship at the University of Dominican in Chicago, Illnios. Big congrats to the Schuster family, we look forward to having you play this summer with us before you head out to college.

Chance Fuglistahler Named rookie of the week in the Northeast Conference

Fuglistahler Named NEC Rookie of the Week
Freshman Chance Fuglistahler allowed one run over nine innings of work last week.
4/16/2012 12:40:00 PM

Brooklyn, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn freshman Chance Fuglistahler threw nine strong innings over a pair of appearances en route to earning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week honors. Fuglistahler threw a complete game in a 16-1 win over Wagner on April 14 and provided two scoreless frames of relief against Saint Peter's in midweek action.

The lefthander retired the first 11 batters he faced at Wagner before allowing a single in the top of the fourth. Fuglistahler would keep the Seahawks off the basepaths until the seventh and final inning of the game when he issued a one-out walk and a triple one out later that accounted for Wagner's only run of the contest.

Fuglistahler allowed just those two hits in his second complete game of the season, improving his record to 3-2. The southpaw fanned six Seahawk batters.

He also made a relief appearance in the Blackbirds' 3-1 home loss to Saint Peter's on April 11. Fuglistahler allowed just one hit in two innings of work and recorded one strikeout. For the week, he compiled a 1.00 ERA and a 0.44 WHIP.

LIU will start a 10-game homestand on Wednesday, April 18 when the Blackbirds host Rider at 3:30 p.m.

Current players in college

Major props to Pepperdines RHP Andrew Alvarez for pitching 4 shut out innings and beating USC. So far this year, Alvarez has only given up 1 run. Also congrats to Chance Fuglisthaler for winning his first collegiate game for LIU. Carlos Fuentes for Chaffey College has one of the lowest ERA's in the nation with a a ERA of 1.24, his teammate Deven Ralston is one of the state leaders with a 400 batting average.. Great news to see our Elite guys having success in the next level.

Game 1

ASBA and SoCal Elite Tie 0-0
9/23/2011 8:38:13 PM

On a day when run scoring has been plentiful, both ASBA and the SoCal Elite saw stellar pitching performances in a 0-0 tie game. In addition, there was only 1 error in the 7 inning game as both defenses supported pitchers throwing strikes and working quickly.

ASBA LHP Calvin LeBrun (2014, Sunnyside HS, AZ) threw a complete game shutout despite allowing 9 hits. He didn't walk a hitter, though, and struck out 9 hitters. LeBrun threw 4 different pitches and changed speeds masterfully. His fastball topped out at 81 mph from a low 3/4's release point and he had excellent sinking and running action at times on the pitch. LeBrun threw almost 69% of his 91 pitches for strikes.

RHP Joseph Maudlin (2013, Lancaster HS, CA) threw 5 innings of shutout ball for the Elite. Maudlin was a bit wild, walking 4 hitters, but had good stuff in a heavy 81-85 mph fastball and low 70's curveball that he commanded well. RHP Jeret Vermillion (2013, Norco HS, CA) finished off 2 easy innings of work, topping out at 83 mph.

ASBA OF Bryan Eberson (2013, Campo Verde HS, AZ) swung the best bat in the game, going 2-3 with a walk and a double.

Game 2
Tanner Draper Throws Masterpiece for Mt. West
9/23/2011 10:34:49 PM

RHP Tanner Draper (2013, Riverton HS, UT) threw a masterful 7 inning no hitter, striking out 15 SoCal Elite hitters while issuing only 1 walk in a 4-0 Mt. West victory. The 6-3/170 Draper threw 118 pitches but maintained his 83-87 mph velocity the entire game, throwing about 60% fastballs with plus movement at times. His 68-73 mph curveball showed very good depth and he threw it consistently for strikes. Draper only threw about a half dozen change ups but that pitch could become a strong third offering if he decided to throw it more often. What a great performance against a strong team!

John Murphy
on September 14, 2011 2:12 PM

Redlands High senior second baseman Brian Ruhm (above, making throw) has committed to UC Davis, Terriers baseball coach Estevan Valencia said.

Ruhm was an HSGameTime All-Inland first-team pick in 2011, helping to lead his team to the Citrus Belt League title.

Ruhm hit .458 with 19 extra base hits and 31 runs batted in last season for the 24-5 Terriers.

"It's a good school and he's getting a good scholarship and they're going to let him play right away," Valencia said. "He's an outstanding student, so it's a good place for him."

Ruhm will study forestry, Valencia said.

San Diego World Series results

.. What a week, our players had a great time, including the coaches as we played in the best weather and top facilities in the nation.
Our 18s had the first game at Point Loma University which is rated the # 1 baseball field in terms of scenery with a ocean view that was breath taking. Boys played 3 games there, tieing a tough trosky team 1-1 and losing a tough 2-1 to last the eventual champs taylor baseball. we then beat the riverside rangers. Boys then played at UCSD, another great facility. We made the playoff and won first round over the trosky A team by the score of 12-1. Trosky came back later on to eliminate us. We made the quarter finals and players had plenty of looks from university coaches, therefore the tournament was a success as the Elite finished 4-2-1..Top piayers, Bubba Schlarman,Carlos Fuentes, Justin Lewis, Chance Fughlisthaler,Lou Villareal top defense, Justin Soto, joshua Banuelos, Raymond Gonzalez,Micah Grove and clutch hitting lead by Corey Johnson, Andrew Alvarez, Austin Turner..

Our 16s also got a chance to place in a great facility at Coronado Island. The team really blended well this week as the chemistry was unbelievable.. we had clutch pitching from the entire staff but ended up losing a heart breaker to the Washington team..This was our tournament but we just had some tough luck, the Bakersfield braves were the eventual champs and we had beat them 12-2 earlier in the week.. Top players for the tournament were lead by the pitching staff of Jeret Vermillion, Alec Ayala, Cade Simon, Jr Maudlin, Chris Iriart,Corey Johnson, Jonathon Lopez and Daniel Romo..MVP was lead by Jagger Teixeira for his solid defense and great hitting.. Team made it to the semi finals..

Also a few players received college offers and lots of attention, congrats to those, as the hard work will pay off

14s Win 1 day tournament

September 1, 2011
Cont-grads to our 14U team which will be known as 15U/16U team now, for winning the 1 day tournament held at Heritage Park in Rancho Cucamonga. Conditions were tough with the heat over 100. That didn't prevent the team as they won the first game 9-1 with a great pitching performance by Jared Davila and key hits from Chris Lujan and Tony Zungia amongst others. Jesse Gonzalez came in to close the game. Game 2 we played the very tough Tomotaros who have been the top 2016 class team over the past 5 years. It was a pitchers due as we were up 1-0 till the opponent stole home to tie up the score. Anthony Russi went the distance, pitching a 2 hitter. Game 3 was the title game versus the Narajardos. Another great pitching due as Hunter Reade pitched a complete game we we held on for a 3-2 victory.Key hit of the game was by Josh Stephens who slammed a ball deep center to bring in 2 runs and secure us the lead for good. this now gives us 4 tournament victories out of 5..

17U finishes 4-2 at Georgia

What a week, as the boys are finally back in town. First day of the tournament, we lost a tough game to the Orlando Scorpions. We faced one of the top pitching prospects in the nation as the team struggled with his 93-96 MPH and his wicked 12-6 curveball. There was well over 50 scouts at that ballgame as we played at the world famous East Cobb complex, where they say every prospect must go through there before the bigs. The team settled down soon after and won the last 3 games, to take 2nd place in group pool. With over 250 teams, only the top 40 teams advance to the playoffs, therefore we just missed it but still placed in the top 50. Overall it was a good outcome as we were able to talk to over 30 schools in the 2 weeks there, so hopefully our players will get the much needed attention they deserve..

16U wins state playoffs and advances to western regionals

After trailing 5-0 on top of the 1st inning versus Hitting Zone, Elite slowly chips away with a big inning, lead by Jagger Teixeiras homerun and then Jonathon Lopez big 3 run homer. Elite takes the lead for good on the 5th inning with a solo blast from Daniel Romo. He was also the winning pitching, coming in and pitching 6 scoreless innings. Congrats for winning the L.A section State Playoffs

Western Regionals start Thursday at Maverick Field, west covina.
First game is at 3pm..

17U update

The 17s faced a tough opponent on the first game, facing one of the top contenders Orlando Scorpions and their ace Fuller. Fuller topped 96 MPH as he shut us down 4-0. Game 2 was a different outcome as we came out swinging the bats, scoring 4 on the top of the 2nd. Richard Preito cruised through 4 innings and Jonathon Lopez came in to close it out and topping 89 MPH. 5-4 victory over South Carolina Shockwave. Game 3 will be facing Minn Stars.

Congrads to SC Elite for this past weekends tournament. 2011 team made the playoffs as the # 16 seed after going 2-1 in pool play. We lost to a tough team in the Eaters baseball, which was lead by 3 ex UCI players and MLB players by a score of 3-1. Eaters ended up making the final 8. We then bounce back and beat the South Florida Bandits by a score of 9-7 after jumping on them with a 7-0 lead and then just holding on. We finished off our pool play with a great defensive performance with a 4-0 win over the Utah Academy team. Our opponent was the tough SC Bombers who we recently went 11 innings with at Arrowhead stadium. This time it was a 1-1 game in the 3rd then things started to unwind with the final score being 8-3. placing in the top 16 out of 52 teams is still a great accomplishment, good job guys.

2012 team started off hot on Friday with a 12-1 over Montana then we faced a tough Diamondback scout team and lost that game 9-0. We needed to secure a victory on Saturday to make the playoffs but once again lost a tough one to the Blue wave 6-1. We finished off our last game with a 7-0 victory over the SD gamers to end up 2-2 overall. Even though we didn't make the playoffs, the team did great. The majority of the guys were experiencing their first Huge showcase tournament. Great job everyone, coach is proud of you..

BIG WIN!! Elite beats the Dominican Republic..

July 27, 2010
Once again, we jump on a team early and then had to fight off a rally as Jon Lopez came in to close out the game. Up 5-0, D.R came within a run of tying but the runner was stranded at 3rd. We got 1st place in our pool with a 3-0 record and now we start the playoffs vs Team Worth from Florida. Gametime, 1pm Field 2..
Congrads to the boys for a gusty victory over a strong Marion County Hammers team. Tyler Mitchel started on the mound, pitching 3 solid innings, coming out with a 3-2 lead. Daniel Romo came in on relief and shut the door down for 4 innings to get the save. David Garcia had a clutch hit with a triple to drive in 2 runs and Steven Brown brought in Garcia to spot us 3 runs during bottom first. Great win guys, up next, Dominican Republic.

Elite Wins 1st game, 8-7, walk off over Houston Sox

After exploding for 4 runs in the 1st inning, we held on to a 4-1 lead heading into the top 5. Ace Adam Hofacket pitched 4 great innings. Defense then struggled a bit and we lost the lead 7-4 but we came back to rally. With bases loaded, Chandler Montalvo hit a hard grounder to the 3rd baseman, brining in the winning run. Next up Tuesday, Marion County Hammers and Dominican Republic. Great teams out here in Orlando, saw the Puerto Rican team, another Dominion team, los prospects, and a Panamanian team.

After winning the first 3 games by a run each, our luck ran out and we lost a tough one too Team Tampa which eliminated us from making the playoffs, we then lost another tough game to a real good Alabama team, called Seminoles, 7-5. Overall the team did great in the tournament, great pitching we just left too many men on base and didnt have the key clutch hits. Still extremely proud of our guys and their effort. Welcome to Summer Season 2010

Summer is here and we as a organization are excited for the opportunities that lay ahead. There are not too many teams out there who have a full summer like we do, with 4 out of state tournaments within a month. We are the only Californian team playing in the USSSA Elite World Series in Orlando. In Georgia, we are the only travel team from the west, as the rest are academy teams. As seen on the photo above, we have won over 30 tournaments in the last 2 and a half seasons with a winning percentage of well over 85%. Our 16s team has placed no lower then 3rd place in every tournament they have entered and our 17s were ranked 39th in the nation last year with the new rankings coming soon. Since we placed 3rd place in the Perfect Game underclassman championships in Arizona this past fall, we are expecting a higher ranking. We are not just a winning program but we also emphasize the essentials to prepare and succeed in life, such as leadership skills, motivation, determination, self confidence, character, work ethic and strive to be the best player/person/student one can be. The majority of our players are college prospects. Our seniors have already committed to schools, and our juniors are being recruited by D 1 programs. Our goal is to help everyone get to the next level and achieve their goals and dreams. Therefore, we need your help, loyalty, and commitment. We look forward to our summer and making everlasting memories. Go ELITE!!!!

How Scholarships work

There are many opportunities for receiving college baseball scholarships. Although there are many opportunities, there are also many talented young baseball players. You must be willing to put in the time and effort into the research for college scholarships if you want to succeed and receive one. Here is a list of some basic numbers pertaining to scholarships.

The NCAA allows each of its Division 1 baseball programs to give 11.78 scholarships. There are over 295 NCAA Division 1 baseball programs.

Division 1 scholarships : over 3,500

The NCAA also allows each of its Division II baseball programs to give 9 scholarships. There are over 230 NCAA Division II baseball programs.

Division II scholarships : over 2,000

NCAA Division III schools are not allowed baseball scholarships. You can still receive academic scholarships or independent baseball scholarships for these schools, but these programs cannot offer any financial aid specifically for its baseball programs.

Division III scholarships : 0

Then their is the NAIA. These baseball programs are allowed to give a maximum of 12 scholarships. Their are close to 200 NAIA baseball programs.

NAIA scholarships : over 2,300

Let's not forget about the NJCAA (Junior Colleges). The NJCAA allows its junior colleges with baseball programs 24 full scholarships. Their are over 380 NJCAA junior college baseball programs.

NJCAA scholarships : over 9,100

We've got over 3,500 D 1 scholarships,over 2,000 D II scholarships,over 2,300 NAIA scholarships,and over 9,100 NJCAA scholarships.

Before I go and add all these scholarship opportunities up,I want to also mention that not all scholarships are full rides. This means that the 11.78 scholarships, per D 1 could really be 23 half scholarships,or it could even be 35 1/3 partial scholarships. The 11.78 full scholarships can be broken down into any partial scholarships so long as they only total up to the 11.78 full scholarships.

So you know what that means? That's even more opportunity for us. For the sake of the math,we will just assume that all D 1, D II and NAIA scholarships will give all their athletes full rides. This is far from reality because full rides come few and far between. So with that being said, let's add em' up!

3,500
2,000
2,300
9,100
That's over 16,900 scholarship opportunities! That's assuming everyone gets a full ride. We are probably looking at a number closer to 25,000!!!

NCAA Clearing House Info

May 20, 2010
The NCAA Clearinghouse, also known as the Eligibility Center, is an organization that collects and distributes your educational information to colleges and universities that may be interested in you. If you want to participate in any of the NCAA colleges or universities you must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse. You can find a registration form at your high school counselors office. There is a one time fee of $50 to register with the Clearinghouse. For that $50, the NCAA Clearinghouse will verify your eligibility so that you can play at any NCAA school your freshman year.

It is recommended that student athletes sign up to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse in the beginning of their junior year of high school.

You want to get this form filled out as early as possible, however there is no registration deadline. The only problem is, if you are not registered, then you cannot receive a scholarship or compete in your sport. So just make sure you are registered in the beginning of your junior year.
