September 9, 2009 By Tim Prudente- Severna Park Voice
"The U17 Severna Park United soccer team finished the spring season with an unprecedent, 20-1-1, record going undefeated in National Capital Soccer League play. The squad, comprised of players from Severna Park, Broadneck, Old Mill and South River high schools, also won the prestigious Kirkwood Boys Premier College Showcase, the Freestate Capital Cup and the Columbia Memorial Day tournaments. The team's success was the result of a potent offense, ranked second in goals scored among 45 NCSL U17 teams in Maryland and Virginia and a stalwart defense."
