Welcome to the Home of the
Tampa Bay Lacrosse Combine
|
Combine Date: December 05 -December 07, 2008
The Tampa Bay Fire, in conjunction with Black Bear Lacrosse, is sponsoring the Tampa Bay Lacrosse Combine. This first-of-a-kind weekend event integrates the tryouts for the 2009 Tampa Bay Fire (U-19, U-17, U-15, U-13) elite and select teams with a comprehensive skills development and player evaluation camp.
A “combine” provides elements of in-depth skills development supervised by leading college coaches and professional players combined with a continuous, high-level evaluation of the participant in relation to his age, stage of skills development, and competitive level. The reason that “combines” are unique is that it takes tremendous resources and knowledge to orchestrate the event and an intensive commitment from both the player participating in the event and the evaluation staff organizing the experience.
The Tampa Bay Fire and Black Bear Lacrosse has assembled the most comprehensive array of lacrosse coaching and playing expertise and has focused it on delivering an intense and exciting experience for the truly committed lacrosse player.
The camp and tryouts are open to lacrosse players of all ages interested in further developing their lacrosse skills and knowledge. The camp will be staffed by renowned professional Major League Lacrosse players and coaches, NCAA college head coaches, and area elite-level coaches. These MLL players and NCAA coaches have committed to this event because they believe in the concept of combining development and evaluation, and they are equally committed to the growth of lacrosse in Florida.
Each player participating in the combine can expect to receive intense and intensive exposure to fundamental and advanced techniques at each position. In addition to comprehensive position work, participants will receive extensive training in team-based concepts such as offensive sets, defensive schemes, and transition principles.
The combine will also offer sessions for high-school coaches, officials, and parents with many opportunities throughout the weekend to speak with the MLL players and NCAA head coaches in a structured format as well as the ability to speak one-on-one with the players and coaches. Parents and high school coaches will gain additional insights and perspectives on contemporary approaches to college recruitment covering the skills, attitudes, and competencies college coaches are seeking in recruited players.
If you have a desire to:
1)improve your skills to compete at elite levels;
