Hailey Ortega is a graduate from the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR, with a Bachelors Degree in Human Physiology. She is currently enrolled as a Masters Degree student in Biomedicine at Rutgers University. Hailey began her volunteer coaching career as an assistant at Westfield P.A.L Summer Camp Softball in 2016 while a high school student. She was a volunteer coach with her hometown little league, Roselle Park Youth Baseball Softball League in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U divisions. Before College, Hailey joined NJ Breakers for a short time after concluding a successful 2 seasons with Central Jersey Lightning. Hailey's playing career was cut short due to a knee injury. Her primary position was catcher, however versatile enough to play other positions. Hailey attended Roselle Park High School and graduated in 2019 among the top in her class. She was a 4 year varsity starter for the Panthers. During Hailey's time as a Panther she was named All County Player in 2017 & 2018, Group 1 2nd Team All State 2018 and All County Player in 2017 & 2018. Although Hailey is no longer a player she remains active in the sport. She served as a bullpen catcher for the top 20 ranked NCAA D1 Oregon Ducks Softball team while in college and is now employed as the Westfield High School Assistant JV Softball Coach.
