Sydney Hixenbaugh is currently an assistant coach for Kean University in Union, NJ.
Sydney began her collegiate softball career playing Division 1 at Drexel University (2018-2019). Following her redshirt freshman year, she transferred to Howard University (Division 1) where she completed her bachelors degree in Health Sciences (2019-2022). Sydney tossed over 160 innings for the Bison, finishing her undergraduate career with an ERA of 2.18. She served as a team captain from 2020-2022 and helped her team become the 2022 MEAC conference champions and compete in the 2022 WCWS.
Following her career at Howard, Sydney attended Kean University where she played her final year of eligibility and received her Master?s in Organizational and Behavioral Psychology. During the 2023 season, she tossed 86 innings and recorded a final 2.39 ERA. She also recorded a .411 batting average with 21 RBI?s. Sydney was named to First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, NJAC Player of the Week, and NJAC Pitcher of the Week, during her one year stint at Kean.
Sydney began her coaching career in 2017 when she became an assistant coach for the 10u Lady Lightning for 3 years. She continued on to become head coach for the Lady Raiders for 3 years while competing in college. Sydney joined the Untamed softball family in the fall of 2023 and is going into her second season. She also began her college coaching career during the same year and has been working as a private instructor for hitting, pitching, and defensive work.
