| The plate rules have not changed from last year.
All playoff games in the plate competition are 2 x periods STOP CLOCK.
If the home team has extra ice time, the game ends after the 2nd period, and the rest of the time can be played as a friendly.
The reason for this is quite simple - some teams can't play 3 periods as they only have 1 1/4 hours ice time for training/games.
This ensures all games are played over 2 periods with a stop clock and the statistics recorded are over the same period of time.
If goal difference has to be considered then it's an accurate comparison, if some teams played 3 periods they could have a higher gaol difference.
Good Luck against Irvine - keep your heads up and watch out for cheapshots.....

| Gaz, if you go to the Schedules page, on the main menu, look at the line for the Irvine game - there is a small blue box at the left side of the game intimation! Click on that box and you will see that the game format is stated there!
Additional info can be seen on Tournaments Page!!
