| Listen up Mullet boy, I have read enough of your posts to realize that you are Coventry's first wanna be gangster.
The teams you played are 9-51, who in the world do you think you can beat in this tournament. Bring you mullet ass to the field early and plan on being home before noon.

| well this kinda leads into what was said on the first day of the season after Jr's played at Jokes Farm Dog had the next game we watched them i believe play the stallions without lb4lb who was away but as we were sitting around talking the left center feilder turned around and said something along the lines as so who is supposedly the team to beat of course us being the assholes we are said that would be us he replies alrite well see you in the finals ......
welllllllllllll it just so happens if you do what your supposed to do and find a way into the championship and we take down 2 of the monsters in this tournament your prediction will come to life Jr's vs Farm in the finals?????????
i played left last nite next to you up in ep we were talking about the seeds and how that all worked out.
you dont exactly have a easy road to get there yourself gotta deal with the crowe / pna in the 2nd round thats a tough one then if u make it past them gotta beat charlies and i dont know if thatll happen i wish ya luck man but
the way i see it
elite eight Pub / A+ Botelho / Jr's Farm /Crowe Del Padre / Charlies
final 4
Pub / Jr's Crowe / Charlies
Championship
Jr's / Crowe .... and Jr's gets there revenge for being knocked out of last years fall ball tourny
All Hail Dutilly !!!!!! hahahah
Good Luck to everyone
Chances are all my picks will b completely wrong but next year mert we are definately keeping track and have win percentages for our picks and then when u beat my ass again ill buy u a trophy and have Ian "God Of Softball" Smith be the special presenter maybe even spray champaigne and smoke cigars and i just may be able to have a surprise guest to perform at the ceremony .... heres a hint she shakes her ass real nice .... pictures soon to come maybe even home videos haha

| It is a very tough bracket this year, and whoever wins it, it won't be an easy road. This fall ball league is even tougher than the summer league, due to all the teams kind of merging to form great teams for fall.
I take umbrage at the disrespect given to the league itself...because it is getting better all the time and I'll match these teams up against ANY Sunday morning league. It may not be the caliber of a night league at Clegg or Atwood, but it is definately the best Sunday league in the state without question.
My query is this...if guys think this league is such a joke than why are they playing here at all? I honestly believe in the near future many of the regular teams in this league can and will compete and be successful anywhere. VFW has already essentially done it and won a State Championship at Atwood. Many guys from all of our teams are playing for various teams at Clegg and Atwood. I have guys that played for Fish Co., NBC Steel, Hooters, National Gold, Lift, and various other teams back in the day. We're old...but I definately believe we could make some noise in a State Tourney.
When I see teams come in and takedown VFW/Jr'/Raymond, Crowe, PNA, Bothelo's...then I will be impressed...but it hasn't happened yet! Having played all of the tougher teams this fall I can honestly say that I don't see any of them losing to the newcomer teams.
I also believe that you could make a team from all of these guys and they could definately be a top team in any league in the state. Mix VFW, Jr's, PNA, PUB, Crowe and Bothelo's and Harris and Moulton...you would have a sick fucking team.

| Tomorrow is almost here! MACs picks are right on,,of course that I am hoping for a couple of upsets but his picks are the smart play. There is an upset every year..just like ths summer. Thats why we play the games. AS far as the league..COVENTRY ROCKS and the teams Mert mentioned..you could make at least 3 SUPER teams from that list..and..maybe its something that we should look into. Send an Allstar team somewhere to some tournament and see what happens. A well rounded team, not just a bunch of thumpers..you know, every team needs a 5'6" 172 lb portagee with no calves to coach first...lastly, thanks to Mert, Smitty, MAC, Dutilly, NATE8 and others for their frequent and entertaining posts..and , Ian in general for setting up this whole website....what are we going to do bewteen now and April...anybody up for indoor whiffle ball? Good Luck tomorrow. My prediction? VFW .

| Hey Mert We haven't been properly introduced but i have to say...that last post from you that i just read has to be by far one of the best post that i have read so far this year. I am new to this league and softball for that matter and the Talent that i have run into(litteraly) is incredible. I knew there were softball teams out there that are really good but some of the players that i have gotten to play against are just unbelievable as far as talent goes. Coming from guys that just pick up on Sunday to be playing with guys that have played for years has been a great opportunity to me and look forward to being able to continue next year. Thanks Mert for the good reading this year and Good luck to all tomorrow

| Hey Gopher, Nice to have you aboard, I'm glad you're having fun in this league. It is a great league too and lots of guys that make it great don't get the credit they deserve.
I bust on Ian alot, but he really does a fantastic job with this website and the league overall. If it were not for all the hard work Ian does, this league would be just another Sunday Morning Rec league. This website is one of the reasons that more and more people come to Coventry each and every year and just a part of why each team is getting better all the time.
Ian truly is the greatest!
Then there is Rob Raymond, great guy and he does a great job for the league. Then of course there are the Baxter's who have dedicated themselves to the league year in and year out. Many people disagree with some of the things that the Baxter's do, but they have the leagues best interest at heart.
Then there are the players and the guys who come on this website all the time and make this whole thing work. You guys are absolutely great.

| I like the direction of the league and with some new blood in the "management" (Ian) we are in great shape. Ian, Rob and the Baxter's do not get nearly enough credit. Mertog gets plenty of credit so I aint droppin no more props on him. The most important influence in the league has not been mentioned though. The real MVPs are the coaches. Without these guys going out and searching out new talent to get into the league this league would become stale and deteriorate much like the West Warwick Softball league did at Amby Smith Field. The credit for the direction of this league is due equally to upper management and the coaches. Thanks to all of you. I would quit during the week long before I ever quit Sunday mornings and I never would have said that 5 years ago when i played in West Warwick.

| Ernie...as a former West Warwick player at Amby Smith I'm in total agreeance with you. I used to love the "semi-fast" league there too. Coventry is unique in as much as we have a variety of fields (unlike the bulk majority of leagues who play at one field) and we have a bunch of great guys who make all this work.
I know that guys that come to play are always talking about the website and that is a huge draw to this league. Guys just love it. They all read it, and I would love to see more guys post and get into the action.
All the resources for a great league are there, the variety of fields, the website, the sponsors, the coaches, the players...and of course Ian Smith! This should be a very competitive and thriving league for years to come.

| thanks for the credit guys. the league is picking up in my opinion because of the players and the website. the site gives people things to talk about and a connection between players and teams that didn't exist before. this has led to the most important part, players talking about the league at their night leagues or coeds or tournaments which gains more interest. a few years ago, people laughed at coventry...now they ask about playing in it
can't wait til '08 and keep visiting the site and talking to others about the league thru the winter. i think merts gonna keep bringing the planets
so thanks to everyone in the league for talking about this league at all the different places you go.

leaguelineup.com services the US and Canada at the top of the page you see Top 100 Sites.....it is for entertainment purposes, but combines number of hits and pages viewed by visitors in the last 30 days. over the summer we peaked at #22 and then fell off the top 100. we got back on this week as high as #68

| umm...anybody want to translate the previous message. Once again, I apologize for one of my rookies..aka The Sippy Cups....the Gold Glove Center Fielder Phil...Phil Hafner....Philly, everybody respects you..I can tell by how many teams are calling me trying to steal you for their roster next year. The Whiz kid is a Crowe player ( I think ) and all the Crowe guys are good guys and I am pretty sure none has a problem with you. Phil Butler = Ian Smith + Ricky Keenan in 2008!!
