Author TOPIC: Accomodation for the Weekend away

When will we know who's being chosen for the weekend away games?

I don't mind doing the booking of the accomodation and negotiating a block discount, but I myself, if not selected, won't be travelling.

I'd suggest we get this sorted ASAP so we can be sure of enough accomodation, and give us a higher chance of a discounted rate.

Andy, I have contacted Premier Travel Inns and they have informed me that they do not do discounts for block bookings. If you have contacts that can offer a discount, let me know.
As far as lines for the weekend are concerned, anybody that is available to travel up to Moray will get a shift at some stage. However these are two games that we must win to accumulate points for the plate week-end in April. So we will be playing to win!!

Calum,

I've ammended the Home Page item re accommodation to include the Travel Lodge. As you say it's a much better deal!

No offence guys, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

But if I'm going to fork out for a weekend away, I want to know I'm going to get some decent ice time.

Thanks Faitha!

I think we should try and organise numbers as soon as to make sure we can get booked in....not that I think a Travel lodge in Inverness in November will be sold out...but better to be safe than sorry. So therefore I propose we do a poll of some sort to see who is all up for travelling for the whole weekend and needs accomodation.

Faitha I remember you putting up polls on the front page before..how successful were they? Do you think this would be a suitable way to do it?

Cheers,

Calum

Yes, it could be - as long some happy chappie doesn't 'muck' it up!
The other thing is that not everybody takes the time to look at the website and you end up with an incomplete poll.
I will put a poll on the home page and see what happens but we will probably, also, have to take a physical head count, this Saturday, at training.
Calum, it's for the above reasons of uncertainty that I suggested, in the home page item on 'accommodation', that everybody going books their own accommodation. As you say, it's unlikely that the Travel Lodge won't be unable to accommodate us - even booking at the last minute!

Andy, Gonna cool the jetsons - again!! The lines won't be made up until next week, when we know who is available. According to club policy, we will only be playing three lines at each game, bur that doesn't mean to say it will be the same three lines each day!

Cheers Faitha....I see your point about the polls on the website...Keep forgetting that just coz I use the internet every day doesn't mean everyone else does! Head count at training is probably better.

Cheers,

Calum

Hi Guys,
Just spoke to the Holiday inn and they can give us up to 10 twin rooms for £49, they also do rooms that sleep 3, but you need to spoon !
If were trying to get the trasport sorted, whatever we do, it would be good to keep everyone together, has anyone booked anything yet ?

I Have booked 8 family rooms at the Travelodge, each room sleeps 3, if you require one of these rooms, you will need to phone me before Saturday, the price is £50, whether it is 3 people or 2 in each room. When you phone let me know who you are sharing with so I can tick them off. I have until 11.00 on saturday to cancel any rooms not needed. Money paid to me, no credit given, no money, no room !
And Mike don't worry, the Holiday Inn is next door.

There will be a bus going to Inverness/Elgin at the weekend. At the moment a 29 seater has been booked. However, due to reduce numbers travelling on it, it may me changed to a 22 seater. The bus will be leaving from the Lagoon car park, Paisley at 11.30 am on Saturday Morning.
