| my point was we ALWAYS vote and we didnt ? we changed the count and arc in our games at least 3 times BECAUSE WE DIDNT KNOW .
i emailed the state director and we can use the trumps and the new standards are going into effect january 2010 .the manufactuers were told to stop making them . so if they are cheaper and the same compression we should be able to buy extras and use them if we chose . we did last fall and we allowed them in the regular season.
a dictatorship is great if the dictator is for the people . communism in its true form is the best goverment but its never governed in its true form . i will stick with the good ole usa where i can speak my mind and ask WHY?

Full USSSA rules, no fake pitching.
One umpire. ($32 a game)
One new ball per game.
Each team will pay a fee and provide a ball all Fall.
Rain outs will not be made up.
Any new player needs a waiver.

I didn’t change any basic rules. We have voted on the arc last summer, last fall, and this summer. Only once did we vote to go “full usssa” and that was last fall as a trial. When we voted for the summer to return to 6-12, I felt it was safe to keep this fall the same. Also, we did not have a meeting, but more on that later.
Also, there were a few changes to the above post, but none changed game play except the arc. For instance, the umpires are only $30 a game this year instead of $32.
Also, the umpires were notified of the 1-1 count with none to waste. If the umpires did not have that information at a field, I apologize but it was out of my hands.

DID WE HAVE A MEETING TO DISCUSS THEM?
No. September 7th was Labor Day and on that Monday (when we usually meet) we still only had 15 teams. There was no point in meeting 1. on Labor Day, 2. when we didn’t have a schedule or anything else in place due to the missing team. Once Matt Walker contacted Matt Chaves and he agreed to be team 16 on Tuesday, September 8th, then everything was in place. I thought it was too much to ask people to meet for fall ball on a different night. Taking that into consideration, I used last years rules that were voted on by almost exactly the same managers as well as the results of this summers usssa arc vote to make the rules. I thought this was in the best interest of the league.

This year we voted to use the .44 .375 for the summer. Several of us made calls looking for this ball and they were no where to be found (including a call to the State Director Brian Cipolla – who did not have any in the quantity we required). I called Kirby Murphy and within days we had the balls we voted on in the quantity we required delivered.
When we had to order balls for fall ball, I discussed the options at several meetings. Eventually the managers got tired of hearing my updates and agreed to “do whatever” for the fall balls. So a meeting on the balls was not necessary and was already voted on.
I openly stated at several meetings that I felt, under the circumstances, we owed Kirby and the people he contacted to get the specific ball we requested on such short notice, one more order and I would do that for the fall. I contacted Kirby with our order and he got the fall balls for us from THE STATE DIRECTOR for $35, not $40, also not $29. But still a better price than the $40 summer price.

CAN I BUY THE CHEAPER TRUMP BALLS FOR EXTRAS IF THEY ARE THE SAME SPECS?
No. You were given enough balls to make it through the season. Each team needs 6 balls to make it through the season. Every team was given 8 balls. That’s 3 for the first week, which gives you 3 extras for week two, 4 for week three and so on. This was explained at brief meeting we had at hunters crossing at 8:15 on Sunday morning. Also explained, was the need to get the used balls out of the woods and from the umpires at the end of the game. If any team chose not to “chase” balls, then the replacements are at your cost and must be the same ball. Worth Super Gold Dot with the USSSA Stamp that states USSSA CLASSIC M.
The TRUMP balls are the same specs but use a harder material. This would generate an unfair advantage for teams using this ball. TRUMP BALLS CAN NOT BE USED. In the order of FAIRNESS every ball should be the same. The league provided enough balls to make it through the season. If you need more balls, I will help you purchase more at your own expense.

I brought up drawing the summer schedule out of a hat and I volunteered to do it in front of all managers at a meeting. All managers voted to give me control of the schedule. Since I had full control of a 15 week schedule, as voted on by the democracy, I felt a 6 week schedule where the results of the regular season don’t matter since everyone makes the playoffs was also in my hands.
I asked Vice President Josh Dionne to make the schedule and I offered a suggestion. The suggestion was to rank 8 teams as “A” teams and 8 as “B” teams. Each team was then given 3 games against “A” teams and 3 against “B” teams. This method has created a more balanced schedule than we have ever had for the fall. Last year, A-Plus was a fairly inexperienced team in the fall and “(drew) out of a hat" the top 6 teams.

File this under Asked and Answered. Looking forward to reading SMACK regarding O-PHERS tournament. I will donate $50 for every triple Rick Leamon hits ( come on, that little pudger is in the top 5 in triples? )and $50 for every homerun O-Pher hits . $20 for every time D Train gets thrown out on the bases ( I have set aside a C-Note for that ) and $20 for every time Considine grounds out to short. I take that back. I dont have enough set aside for that last one.

Your response is WRONG the trump meets the exact specs as the worth ball. Its not harder or better out of the wrapper. The trump is made of better materials and doesnt break down as quick. The advantage you talked about can be achieved by buying extras worth balls and have players "lose" the ball at the beginning of and inning. Its more of an advantage this way , bc not every coach is gonna by extras .

| OK...meetings are important . Its tough to be a player/manager/president/ league heartthrob. Lets say the pres agrees maybe there should have been a meeting so that there wasnt even an appearance of an impropriety. I dont think the pres has any interst in making unilateral decisions. Trump Balls? My only question would be..we are USSSA..whatever they say we follow. We have to for insurance purposes. So...are the TRUMPS out and why? I think this may have been answered but lets attend to this again,,,

Come to find out i don't think ive ever seen you with a woman hmmmmmmm might be some research done on that. I guess when nothing else you can go classless and throw pot shots. All in good fun so i see. Family business had to move to save some money and keep costs down but hey we can sleep at night with out worrying if we screwed anyone over.

2009 usssa league home run totals with a worth = 1105
for comparison...
2006 asa league home run totals = 599
2007 asa league home run totals = 572
i don't remember the asa balls but the specs were the same.
just like the trump specs last year and this year's worth specs were the same.
either way same asa bats home runs totals were off by 27
usssa two year period same bats, the change was 268.

| the hr diffrence is prolly made up from the lack of endurance of the worth ball. the trump and the worth start out the same the trump holds to the original specs better. so thats what im saying if i keep throwing new worths in . the balls still gonna be hard . but the trump is no harder than the worth out of the wrapper.
one factor in the hr run total might be the fact we lost a top three team and gained in and out . they didnt even finish the season. the totals close enough to say the fact the some top tier guys didnt play as much could have contributed. also merts squad had some big bats leave .
