| According to the Chiefs there's no benches or glass up at Braehead making it almost impossible for a game to take place.
I phoned Braehead to ask if we can expect them up by Saturday, but no call back yet.
I figure we can't just expect the Cougars to travel down when there's a fair chance we can't play in that rink.

| Got a call back and the guy hasn't spoken to Bruce but fully expects nothing to be ready.
I think we need to do something about this or nothing is ever going to change.

| Andy, do you think I'm sitting here with my thumb up my bum and my brain in neutal!!!! I've been dealing and negotiating with the Arena management since the begining of the month over this matter. I've been over to the Arena offices twice this week already trying to get them to put glass and benches up for Saturday.
Please don't go phoning Braehead without 1st checking with myself. I know the chain of command in there and I know who to go to direct.

| Apologies Ronnie, I actually had initially typed a reply here saying I wasn't wanting to be standing on anyones toes regarding this, but I didn't think it'd have been taken that way.
I didn't tell anyone who I was, or who I played for, so they have no idea where the query came from.
I know you're doing something about it, and no doubt each coach of all the other reccy teams are doing the same, but yet still nothing is changing at Braehead.
I didn't phone Braehead as a dig at you, or did I think for a second you weren't doing anything about it, so if it came across that way, apologies again.
I do believe, that the more people that contact them regarding this though, the more chance we have of anything being done about it.
Event/Venue management is what I do, so I know the minute you tell them you're shutting up shop and not paying them until they deliver what is agreed, they'll soon take notice.
People have said that Braehead have us by the throat, as in we have nowhere else to go, but lets face it, Braehead's not much of a place to go just now as it is!

| Apology accepted Andy. You did hit a bit of a nerve there, but it's a nerve that was already vibrating at about 50 thousand hertz due to the frustration that I am experiencing over the way we are being treated by the Arena. I was in this morning and confronted Bruce but as you say, they think they have got us over the proverbial barrel. He said he would try and do something for the week-end and at the moment I am waiting on a phone call from him, which he promised would come before the end of the working day - it hasn't come and no-one is answering when I call him.
I made it clear that the referees are reluctant to run a game where a bad incident could occur which they could be held responsible for.
I am phoning the Head of the SRIHC tonight to see if the executive would be happy to approve a game to take place under the present circumstances i.e. no benches, no glass, no proper markings on the ice.
WATCH THIS SPACE!!

| Bruce's phone call never came & he is still not answering my calls, however..
I have spoken to the SRIHC Director and Staffy (Referee) about running the game under the present circumstances. The director didn't see a problem as long as both teams are happy to do so. Consequently, Staffy will let the game go ahead and he will referee it, so..
THE GAME WILL GO AHEAD!
We better have a shed load o' pucks at the time keepers bench for all the ones that fly off the ice. Not sure how we will place the teams during the game!
Yesterday Bruce offered profound apologies for this years current unsatisfactory conditions but stated that it will not happen next year as the Elite League is DEFINATELY coming to the Arena!!

The benches are a relatively easy move and that's pure laziness on their part.

| Alrite bud the glasses is going up the nite and the benches are getting put in so it will be ok for the morra and the ice is not to bad got a flood on it last nite
