| Footballcheery....Every year the teams change, the girls change, the coaches sometimes change and the rules always change. Talent one year does not mean they have talent the next year nor perhaps does the coaches have the skill set to be a level four. To say its shameful is wrong. Don't judge other unless you walked in their shoes!!

| CheeringMomma - yes that is sometimes the case - but when we see layouts (and other level 4 elements) at a level 3 this year - well then we can revisit the discussion. Just my own opinion. Hopefully that won't be the case. Good luck everyone - go Eastern Mass!

I could agree more, I understand there is change in every team year to year, and I am just a cheer mom not a coach, but I find it hard to believe we have teams in EM that WON there division last year at nationals level 3 or 4 and have the majority of the kids back and the same coaches I would hope the pushed to the next level or compete at level 4 again ?? I find it hard to believe the kids are getting better from year to year ??
I dont get it
again level 3 is stacked with teams that proabably should have pushed to 4
we will see ?? good luck to all the girls !!!

| I would your point if they were the same exact girls, same exact coaches, however I think that is very rare. I am not sure about your town, however in my town, my daughter has not been on the same team twice in the last five years. She has always moved up. There are always new girls, coaches to add to the mix. These girls for the most part are NOT year round cheerleaders. so for 9 months they are involved in other sports or whatever. So come August they are retraining the muscles. I can not speak for other towns, just what i can see in mine.

| also keep in mind tumbling is not the only skill that defines a level. If one girl can do a layout that doesnt justify going level 4, when level 4 stunting is also involved. Its important to realize that its combined skills that the majority of the team has not 2 or 3 girls on a team of 26 or 35 not everyone goes to tumbling in the off season not everyone is bigger and stronger the next year level 4 stunts are difficult and to max out takes a lot of girls with those skills you cant go level 3 or 4 without the appropriate skills it throws everything off

| I would also think that if a team did a stunt that was "prohibited" for their level, they would receive a BIG deduction or be disqualified. I agree they should not perform level four skills in a level three category.
