NOTICE: The annual meeting for the election of the Board of Directors will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 8PM. The meeting will be held in the main building at Holbrook. Each year 1/3 of the board seats expire and have to be elected. In addition to those positions, this year we have added 4 new board positions (done mostly to cover the additional work load associated with softball) which will also have to be filled. Holbrook LL takes these elections most serious, as these 21 individuals are responsible for all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the league and facility. Our goal as a league is to create the best experience possible for our children whether they are baseball or softball players. To that end it’s important that we have a mix of individuals passionate about maintaining and hopefully improving our baseball and/or softball leagues. We also need individuals with the time and interest to maintain our buildings and grounds. To be successful we need to elect a well-rounded board. To elect a well-rounded Board of Directors we need families to invest the time to come to the election.

For those unfamiliar with the process, it starts with interested individuals making their intentions known to the nominating committee (President Tony Del Vecchio, Vice President Tim Beck or Secretary Stewart Bennion). The purpose of the committee is not to screen anyone but simply to ensure we have enough candidates to fill the openings and to make sure these individuals understand the roles and expectations of being on the board. The election meeting on 10/16/13 will begin at 8PM with a brief overview of the process followed by nominations of all interested candidates. Once nominations have ended each nominee will be asked to give a brief description of their background and what their interest is in running for the board. After that, voting procedures are reviewed and the vote takes place. Each family, independent of how many children they have playing in the league, will have one vote. The family must have had a player registered during the current fiscal year (10/1/12 – 9/30/13) to be eligible to vote. The top vote getters will be the newly elected board members.
