| The harsh reality of the All-Star Season is that if you don't win the LAST game you play, you go home upset, disappointed & feeling like you didn't achieve your ultimate goal. That fact is magnified when a team is so dedicated, and works so hard, that the goal consumes its players, coaches, parents and league..Hopefully, you get to win some Championships along the way and enjoy the ride. The core group of our 12yr old All-Star Team thrilled us in just that way when they were 10yr olds and their ride as NJ State Champions took us to the Regional Championships in Rhode Island in 2012 . Our boys lost the District 18 Championship in back-to-back games to Toms River this week.. the final blow coming last night on a 2 run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 6th after we took a 3-2 lead into that inning. The game was a seesaw battle to the end, with excellent pitching and defense, and timely hitting keeping the game close all night. To say that being eliminated so very short of their goals is devastating, is an understatement. But to know this team of players and coaches, and to have watched their hard work and dedication over the years, including over 100 games and hundreds of practices and training sessions in the last year alone, is to know that they ARE, and ALWAYS will be CHAMPIONS in the truest sense of the word.
They didn't lose to Karma, they didn't lose becuase of the Umpires, they didn't lose because of the obnoxious and at times, out of control opposing fans....they lost to a better team this week. PERIOD!!!That's LITTLE LEAGUE ..But these boys will thrill us again in years to come...for Holbrook, for their middle & high schools. maybe into college and the pro's some day. For now, one final tip of the hat and a round of applause for : LUKE BROWN, THOMAS CARTNICK,NICHOLAS DeCARLO, NICHOLAS GRAY, CONNOR KEENAN,

| Christian and I just read Toni's post, and in behalf of Christian and our family we would like to thank holbrook for giving my son the opportunity to represent for holbrook allstars, he had a great time with his team mates, I would like to thank the parents and kids that came to support holbrook aswell ..
