| I would first like to start by applauding all the hard work that the volunteers do for the little league. I know that you don't have to do it but do it because you enjoy working with the program and the kids. I would like to thank you. If I could politely offer constructive criticism, if it is at all possible I am asking that the league provide the complete schedule in a more expeditious manner. This in no way is an attack on any of you, it is just a point of contention that I know many of the parents have.
I have 3 children playing this season and 4 next. They love baseball and enjoy the time spent at Holbrook, however, they are involved in other activities. With 4 boys our house, like many others who have children in Holbrook, runs not only on a tight schedule but on a tight budget. As parents we try to expose our children to all we can and more times then not have to pay a fair amount to do so. Being that many other activities have hard deadlines as to enrollment I am forced to choose between registering my sons and hoping there is no conflict with baseball, or making them choose between baseball and other things they love. Having just received the full schedule this week I see that unfortunately there is a conflict on 4 of the 12 remaining scheduled game days. This puts me in a situation where I have paid for something my children will not attend, and it puts my children in the position where they all must agree on what they would rather do.
If I may make a suggestion, being that no one wants to see children turned away maybe the league can have a schedule completed earlier and place late registering children on existing teams so that parents who register early are offered the benefit of at least a tentative schedule for the upcoming season.
Please understand that I am no way attempting to minimize the amount of effort, time, or commitment you have put into the program. I wish I was able to be as involved as you all are. I am mentioning this only as a point of information.
