Each league has been designated a time period throughout the day where the parents and coaches will be required to work the fields measuring the hits, recording the hits, and shagging the balls. The kids are then designated a time for hitting. No league will be permitted to measure their own teams hits.

All players and workers must sign in at the registration table. EACH PLAYER MUST BRING THEIR PLEDGE SHEET AND PLEDGES WITH THEM TO REGISTER AT THE REGISTRATION TABLE.

For those kids hitting pitched balls, their coaches will be pitching to them. Coaches can pitch from wherever they would like. This includes soft tossing if you choose. Each player will get 12 PITCHES ONLY, so have your kids swing at everything. Any player who does not hit a ball will continue to be pitched to until they do hit a ball. T-Ball players will hit strickly off the tee. Each T-Ball player will get to hit 10 BALLS ONLY. It does not matter how far the ball goes, they will only get to hit 10 balls. In all age groups the balls do NOT have to be hit fair but must stay in the playing area if hitting on a field.

Workers will determine which ball is the longest hit and measure to the back of the ball. MEASUREMENTS MUST BE TO THE NEAREST INCH. Once the longest ball has been measured the distance will be recorded on the players pledge sheet by a worker recording the distances. This worker will hold on to all pledge sheets and return them to the registration table once the team has completed hitting. All other workers will shag the balls and return them to the bucket after each batter.

All batters must wear helmets with face masks. Balls will be provided but teams must provide their own bats.

Once the hit-a-thon is completed, it will take approximately 2 weeks to sort through all of the players to get the long ball champions at each age. Once this is completed, it will be posted on the Edison League website.

All proceeds from the hit-a-thon will go back to the leagues who participate. These proceeds are designated to go toward the following years league fees.
