Belen Jesuit’s Frankie de la
Camara nearly broke Miami-
Dade County’s single-season
scoring record and in the process
led his team to its first state
boys’ soccer championship.
On Monday, de la Camara
earned recognition for his outstanding
senior season when he
was named the Florida Dairy
Farmers Mr. Soccer — the
award for the state’s top player
in the sport.
De la Camara scored 59

to only former Ransom Everglades’

61, and had 14 assists to lead
the Wolverines to a 27-0-2 record.
