We had a runner at 2nd stealing 3rd our batter took a ball was standing in the batters box , the catcher made no effort to clear the batter . She just came up to make the throw and ate it. That action was behind the batter once again batter was in the box still facing the field no throw made and the call was dead ball batter out. I understand that it up to the umps discretion weather or not batter intentionally interfered but for giggles lets say she just stayed put. Is this still the correct call?

Bud, batter interference is difficult. As a coach, I would direct any player to continue to make your play and force the umpire to make a call. If the catcher makes contact with a batter who is not in the box, it forces the umpire to make a decision. If the batter simply "stays put", it's topugh to penalize that player.
