| Major League Baseball held a Home Run derby tonight in Miami...District 18 Little League Baseball held a Home Run Derby AND a Fireworks display tonight in Toms River in Game 1 of the District 18 Championship round!!
Holbrook's 12yr Old All-Stars won a slugfest against Manchester LL 18-12!! Both teams had that "never say die" attitude and this game wasn't over, until it was over!!
Garrett Drew set the tone of the night with a lead off Homerun in the first inning! Chris Cartnick hit 3 homeruns, the last one a grand slam (See video below, courtesy of Tyler Rowan!) in the 6th to put the game seemingly out of reach 18-7! But Manchester fought back with 5 runs on two more homeruns in the bottom 6th to make the game 18-12. Manchester won the home run derby 5-4, but Holbrook won the battle to force the "IF" Game tomorrow at 6:30 in Toms River.
It was an amazing game played by both teams and our boys showed their heart and how good a team they are, in avenging their tough loss to Manchester last week.
Tuesday night is winner take all to advance to the Section 3 Championships!!
Little League All-Star Baseball at its best.......again!!!
The stands were deep with support tonight, from our 10 yr Old Baseball team and coaches. To former players, coaches and Board Members. To current players, parents and siblings!! Thank you all for being there tonight to support our boys!!
Now we need to do it all over again Tuesday night!!
