Nine-Run Sixth Fuels Orioles 23-10 Rout of Dodgers
SOUTH PASADENA, Calif., May 21 -- The Valley Orioles (4–6–1) won their third consecutive season matchup with the Glendale Dodgers (4-7) in a dominating 23-10 victory at South Pasadena High School.
The Dodgers took an early lead with a three-run first inning, holding onto a 3–1 lead until the third when the Orioles scored four. But it was the Orioles' nine-run sixth inning that sealed the win, giving them a 21–7 lead going into the final seventh inning.
The O's added two insurance run in the seventh, answered by three runs from the Dodgers in the bottom of the inning.
Several Orioles had standout performances, including four hits from Paul Jensen (which included a triple) and three hits apiece from Erik Ibaad and Gary Cozine (which included a double).
