Sidewinders win pitchers duel.
Sidewinders pitchers Kaz Arakawa (6 innings / 2 runs), and Don McClain (3 innings / 0 runs / 5 K's) barely best the Grays Jeremy Zimmerman (9 innings / 1 earned run / 12 K's).
The Sidewinders scored 2 unearned runs in the 1st, keyed by a Michael Rosenblum single, and then added another run in the 3rd as Ethan Wolferman doubled and was brought home by a Chris Healey triple. The sharp Zimmerman would not allow any more runs and hoped for a Grays comeback.
The Grays did get on the board in the 7th, as Williams, Taylor and Kawaguchi singled to load the bases, Zimmerman walked to bring in one run, and then Adams hit a shot to deep right field, Dave Becker went back and made the catch, but the Grays score their second run at that point. From there, relief pitcher McClain fanned 5 of the next 9 hitter to preserve the victory. For the Grays, both Vince Williams and Eric Kawaguchi had 3 hits.
