Storm Fight Back and Split Double Header With 7-5 Win

Scarborough Redstorm Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over Thornton Academy on Friday. The game was tied at five with Scarborough Redstorm Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Alana Sawyer singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Thornton Academy scored four runs in the first inning, but Scarborough Redstorm Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Thornton Academy came thanks to doubles by Isabelle Miner and Madison Vachon and a single by Bailey Littlefield.
Thornton Academy opened up scoring in the first inning, when Littlefield singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Angelina Pizzella was the winning pitcher for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. The pitcher surrendered five runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out one.
Hannah Lappin took the loss for Thornton Academy. The bulldog lasted six innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while striking out four.
Scarborough Redstorm Varsity racked up 11 hits on the day. Katie Roy, AJ Swett, Calynn Gendreau, and Pizzella all had multiple hits for Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. Roy went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Scarborough Redstorm Varsity in hits.
Jessica Dow led Thornton Academy with three hits in four at bats.
