9/29/24 - Game 1 - Cobras vs Peaches

Peaches could not hold onto the lead against Cobras on Sunday at Legacy High School and fell 14-12 despite leading by five at one point.

Derek Thielges collected three hits in three at bats in the loss. Thielges tripled in the third inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Cobras got on the board in the top of the first inning after Behake singled, Lew-Hailer singled, and Preski grounded out, each scoring one run.

Cobras added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when an error scored two runs, and Reeves Jr doubled, scoring one run.

Peaches flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 10-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Stephen Laddin that drove in two.

A ground out by Luis Felix extended the Peaches lead to 11-7 in the bottom of the third inning.

In the top of the sixth inning, Cobras went back into the lead after Reeves Jr homered to center field, Preski singled, Duncan was struck by a pitch, and Bill hit into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

Christopher Ceccotti pitched three innings in relief for Peaches. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and three runs while, striking out two and walking three. R.J. Nielsen took the loss for Peaches. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits, striking out four and walking three. Christian Wright stepped on the bump first for Peaches. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and six runs (four earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking two.

Peaches amassed 11 hits in the game. Jeff Yaroslow went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Stephen Protheroe collected two hits for Peaches in three at bats. Peaches had patience at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Felix and Ben Floor led the team with two free passes each. Protheroe stole two bases. Peaches ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game.

Cobras accumulated 12 hits in the game. Reeves Jr led Cobras with three hits in four at bats. Kaleb W, Reeves Jr, Preski, and Lew-Hailer each drove in two runs for Cobras. Behake collected two hits for Cobras in four at bats. Pelayo paced Cobras with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Lew-Hailer stole two bases. Cobras stole five bases in the game. Cobras turned one double play in the game.
