Game 3 Victory! - Peaches Over Gators
Christian Wright was dominant on the hill, as the starting pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Peaches's 12-1 victory over Gators on Sunday at Schafer Field. Wright allowed four hits and one run over eight innings while walking two.
Wright collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Wright singled in the sixth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Peaches opened the scoring in the second after Josh Brener singled, scoring two runs.
Peaches added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jeff Yaroslow was struck by a pitch, Gators committed an error, and Gators committed an error, each scoring one run.
Peaches scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Derek Thielges doubled, scoring one run, Wright singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Stephen Protheroe lined out, scoring one run, and Winkler induced Brener to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Rosenberg took the loss for Gators. The hurler went five innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking four. Brian Nichols appeared in relief for Peaches.
Peaches accumulated 15 hits in the game. Brener led Peaches with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Wright and Thielges each collected three hits for Peaches. Jeremy Rhodes and Luis Felix each collected multiple hits for Peaches. Yaroslow led Peaches with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Peaches turned one double play in the game. Peaches were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Ben Floor made the most plays with 10.
Guevara led the team with one run batted in. Hayden led Gators with two hits in three at bats.
Next up for Peaches is a game against Brewers on Sunday.
