Cobras 8, Peaches 2
Peaches couldn't keep up with Cobras and fell 8-2 on Sunday at Schafer Field.
Cobras opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.
Cobras added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Jeff Dotson grounded out, Mike Pelayo homered to center field, and Mark Todd grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
Cobras added one run in the third after Gilbert Williams doubled down the right field line.
Christian Wright began the game for Peaches. The hurler allowed four hits and eight runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking eight.
Wright went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Stephen Protheroe, Wright, Luis Felix, Josh Brener, Derek Thielges, and Christopher Ceccotti each collected one hit for Peaches.
Dotson led Cobras with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Number nine hitter, Aaron Preski, showed the depth of Cobras's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Cobras had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Williams and Matthew Diaz led the team with two free passes each. Robert Reeves III and Diaz each stole multiple bases for Cobras. Cobras ran wild on the base paths, collecting nine stolen bases for the game. Cobras turned one double play in the game.
Peaches welcome Diablos on Sunday for their next game.
