Peaches Ready for Playoffs
Peaches won big over Gators 23-1 on Sunday at Glendale Sports Complex.
Peaches got on the board in the top of the third inning after Gators committed an error, Derek Thielges singled down the left field line, Christian Wright singled, and Gators committed an error, each scoring one run.
Peaches scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. An error scored one run, Chris Montanez singled, scoring two runs, and Wright singled, scoring two runs.
Peaches scored six runs on six hits in the top of the eighth inning. Jeff Yaroslow doubled, scoring one run, Thielges grounded out, scoring one run, Luis Felix singled, scoring one run, and Stephen Laddin doubled, scoring three runs.
Wright earned the win for Peaches. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and one run over nine innings, striking out six and walking one. Rosenberg started on the bump for Gators. The hurler surrendered nine hits and nine runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three.
Peaches tallied 24 hits in the game. Ben Floor went 5-for-6 at the plate to lead Peaches in hits. Laddin, Wright, and Thielges each drove in three runs for Peaches. Stephen Protheroe, Jeremy Rhodes, Yaroslow, Felix, Josh Brener, and Montanez each collected multiple hits for Peaches. Peaches had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Adam Schleifer and Thielges led the team with two bases on balls each. Montanez stole two bases. Peaches ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game. Peaches turned one double play in the game.
Guevara, Frankel, and Leon each collected one hit for Gators. Leon went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
