Cavs Advance To 2A West Championship!
Saturday afternoon the Cavs made their 2nd trip in three years to the state playoffs and found Francis Scott Key waiting for them. The Cavs were able to take the early lead and momentum to take a 7-0 lead on a 5 yard Jason Burns touchdown run. On the next series Francis Scott Key went three plays and tied the game on a 20 yard Matt Angell touchdown run to make the score 7-7. The Cavs would cap off the scoring with a two minute drive that was finished by a 41 yard Jason Burns touchdown run. The Cavs would take a 14-7 lead into halftime. Francis Scott Key would respond in the thrid quarter to make it 14-14 but on the kickoff following the touchdown Matt Greene found a seam up the middle and went 80 yards to give the Cavs a 21-14 lead. The Cavs would extend their lead going into the fourth quarter 27-14. Francis Scott Key would not get any closer than two scores and the final score was 35-20. The Cavs were lead by a running game that produced 400 yards on 54 carries. Ryan Hash had 24 carries for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Jason Burns also added two touchdowns along with 104 yards on a 11 carries. Also, adding to the rushing total was Matt Greene with 75 yards on 8 carries. The Cavs travel to Middletwon for the 2A West Championship on Friday November 25 starting at 7:00!
