Bobby (one of our new Rookie coaches) was in need of some assistance and there they were, the senior members......(no offense guys!) in the dugout to show their old team support. Ginny.... Thanks a bunch for jumping in for some much needed help in the concession stand.... It's a wonderful thing isn't it, working together, teaching our kids what true teamwork is all about..... |

I drove by that field in the morning and was convinced the game would be cancelled. I'm sure the extra effort was appreciated by the players. |

We have well over 100 comments up on the site for our "Let There Be Lights" submission, more than any other project on the site! And although we were not awarded the grant for the month of February, we are still very much in the running as grants are awarded every month until June! So thank you for your support everyone! :) |

I wanted to take a minute to thank EVERYONE who contributed to the make a kid happy for Christmas campaign. Whether it was a $ 10.00 or $ 300.00 donation, your BIG heart, your thoughtfullness and compassion for the less fortunate will never be forgotten. We raised $ 4,865 and enabled up to 38 kids to pick out some new sneakers and clothes at our Foot Locker sponsor in Bayonne. The smiles on those kids faces were PRICELESS. The appreciation from the parents was overwhelming. Bless all of you !!!!!!!! |

With the incredible generosity of many parents in both the Bayonne Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken baseball leagues and with a great matching donation of $ 1,000 from our terrific sponsor FOOT LOCKER we have now raised an incredible $ 2,670. As of 12/14/06 we have contacted each public school in Bayonne and will provide at least 17 less fortunate kids with new sneakers, shoes and or sweatshirts courtesy of the league's parents and Foot Lockers generous donations. Our main goal is to stay physically fit and in develop a more healthy lifestyle. We also want to make a positive impact in our community. Last month, we successfully had our first Thanksgiving Day Food Drive , collecting a total of 188 food items, benefiting families from the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation. This month we are starting to collect used, old worn sneakers (of any brand) to participate in Nike’s Recycling Program. It’s popular to give New sneakers as a holiday/Christmas gifts, so please collect your old sneakers (sneakers of any brand; no shoes, or boots) and contact me. There will be a central drop off location for anyone who would like to swing by and discard their old footwear. Nike will recycle all sneakers into the rubber that’s integrated into material for running tracks and the Field Turf like the one we feature at our Footlocker Stadium and playgrounds. The WWC will be making a bulk mailing to Nike in late January. The deadline for this sneaker recycling collection will be January 20, 2006. Please pass the word around. We are asking anyone during this holiday season who might be interested in making just a SMALL donation of $ 10.00 ( SIMILAR TO A SECRET SANTA ) towards this great cause. We will use 100% of the donations and provide a less fortunate child the oportunity to buy a pair of sneakers and or shoes and maybe a sports jersey at our GREAT sponsor Foot Locker located right here in Bayonne NJ. In just one weeks time ( as of 12/4/06 ) we have already raised $ 635.00 and because of everyone's magnificant generosity we will now have two less fortunate children receive some gifts. Why not make three or four kids happy and enable them to receive some gifts they normally would not be able to.
