Todd Rivard - 10U Head Coach

Todd Rivard - 10U Head Coach

Todd Rivard has been coaching kids since he was 17 years old when he started coaching in his home town little league baseball program at the urging of his high school baseball coach.  After graduating from college and moving to Midland he immediately got involved with Midland Northeast Little League and has been either a coach or board member since 2000.  During that time he has coached teams at that have won local district titles, a state championship, and reached the little league regional finals.  For the last several years, he has been involved with the Midland Girls Softball League as a coach at both the 6U and 8U levels.  This year he coached his first softball travel team.  Todd’s focus is providing a fun opportunity for children to learn the fundamentals of the game in a competitive environment.

Tressa Augustine - 14U Head Coach

 Tressa Augustine - 14U Head Coach

Tressa is a stay at home mom with 4 adopted children.  She substitute teaches in the Beaverton Rural School District and has coach little league baseball for 2 years and softball for 6.  She has also coach volleyball and basketball.  In the first 2 years as a 10U coach Tressa has won multiple tournaments including a 2015 ASA State Title and NSA Nationals appearance with a top 20 finish. 

 

Coach Tressa says "I love coaching softball.   I love the teamwork, determination and willingness to learn by her players.  I have been very blessed the past 2 years coaching 10U Lady Explorers and looking forward to another AWESOME season".

 

 

Ryan Holzinger - 14U Head Coach

 

 Ryan Holzinger - 14U Head Coach

Hometown: Sanford MI 

Three sport athlete at Sanford Meridian (football, basketball, baseball) and played for both Midland Berryhill Legion baseball and Sanford Legion baseball teams before going on to pitch at Alma College.  4 year varsity baseball at Alma College, playing both short stop and pitcher.  Won the Darryl Geiling Pitching award at Alma as a junior and senior for most wins and was named MIAA all conference as a junior and senior as a pitcher.  Following college, played 15+ years men’s fastpitch softball in Midland along with several years of men’s league baseball out of Saginaw. 

 Coaching – This is Ryan’s 4th season coaching with the Lady Explorers.  Over the last two seasons, his teams have accumulated a record of 49-26-2, with multiple tournament championships.  Ryan also coaches the 7th/8th grade softball team at Sanford Meridian Schools.  Prior to softball, he coached four years of junior and senior division baseball. 

 Personal – Has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Alma College and a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.  Vice President on Sanford Meridian School Board.   Works at Dow Chemical as the Supply Chain Director for Dow’s Food, Pharma, and Medical business.

Casey Kristin - 18U Head Coach

Casey entered the game of softball at the age of 13 and played travel for the 16U Winn-Burger King team.  From the ages of 15-18 she played 18U for the Mt. Pleasant Drillers and played in the National Tournament, won a State tournament and was runner up two seasons.  In High school she played four seasons of Varsity Softball for the St. Louis Sharks where she was a three time All-State second baseman (one year HM and two years first team.)   Her collegiate career was cut short at SVSU with an ACL injury.

Casey is a teacher with the Carrollton Public School District for 11 years now.  Seven of those years spent teaching 3rd and 4th grade and the last 4 teaching Elementary Physical Education.  She spent 5 years coaching the JV Softball Team for Carrollton before stepping away for two seasons.  During that time she coached JV Softball for Heritage High School and now is the Varsity Coach at Carrollton. 

Coach Casey says.

Charles Keeley - 23U Incumbent Head Coach

Charles Keeley - 23U

Coach Keeley has coached and led the Lady Explorers Organization as President since 2011.  In high school Charles earned All Conference awards in both baseball and football as well as the Bay City Times Gold Helmet award in football.  In addition to coaching several years of recreational softball, youth football and basketball Charles has also coached JV Softball at Bay City Western. 

Coach Keeley Says:

"I love the game and love coaching and seeing players improve from year to year.  As president of the organization I'm dedicated to providing the highest quality coaches and teams in the area providing a platform for player development to get to the highest level." 

 

Mike "Koz" Kozuch - 23U

Legendary coach Mike Kozuch is the longest standing coach for the Lady Explorers organization.  Each year Koz puts together the best college talent from the Great Lakes region and typically places in the top 5 every year in Nationals.  Koz also plays competitive ball at both the 50 and 60 and over age groups competing nationally each year.  Coach Mike owns and operates KJP Sales in Midland. Mike has been coaching girls softball for 32 years and 16 years as the MLES 23U Head Coach.

Won the 2002 ASA Class B National Tournament as the Assistant Coach

Won the 2010 NSA Women's World Series in Peoria, Illinois

Record stands at 298 Wins and 113 Losses through 2016.

Elected to the MASA Hall of Fame in 2008

Elected to the Midland County Hall of Fame in 2010.
