Several years ago U.S. Soccer has made some changes to encourage further youth development. These changes included the nationwide adoption of Small-Sided Games and a shift from school-year to calendar year for the age grouping of teams. Read more at the U.S. Youth Soccer website.
General Information
The Williston Soccer Club (WSC) strives to provide all players with the opportunity to learn and develop skills with a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, competition and fun. We do not require try outs but we do ask for each player's commitment to a more competitive level of play. You do not need to reside in Williston to be part of the Club. We gladly accept surrounding town players to join. The spring season runs from April through June. Practices are held at the Williston Community Fields. Home games are at the Williston Community Fields. Teams will travel to other towns for Away games.
Session Dates
Spring Soccer typically runs 8-9 weeks, from the last week of April through the last week of June.
Training Sessions
Training sessions will focus on personal athletic skill development and will consist of drills and scrimmages. Players are expected to be serious and to be committed and ready to play. They should bring a water bottle, shin guards, a soccer ball and soccer cleats to each practice. Practices are at the Williston Community Fields (behind Williston Central School, 195 Central School Drive). The WSC understands that there may be conflicts with other spring sports, so we recommend that you do your best to attend at least one practice each week (attendance at practice is not mandatory to play in games).
Practice sessions days & times will be determined closer to the start of the season.
