Tball Baseball Ages 4 & 5

Aston Valley provides a Tball program for our 4 & 5 year old.  Ballplayers ages 4-5 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young athletes hit the ball from a batting tee which is height-adjusted for a level swing, batting in order through the line-up for the entire game. The primary goal is to begin to instruct young players in the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive team environment.

This program provides the basic building blocks of learning the game of baseball.  Basic fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting and running bases are stressed in a practice and fun game setting.  And of course, the main thing our youngest group of players will learn is to have fun!  Our Tballers will play their "games" on the Tball field at Weir Park.

Junior Rookie Baseball Age 6

Junior Rookie is a subdivision of our Tball program.  This is designed for our 6U players to start using their fundamental skills and applying it to game situations and prepare for moving up to the Rookie Division.  Our 6u kids will continue to focus on the fundamentals but will begin hitting off pitching machine and live coach pitch while defensively learn to make outs and transition from inning to inning.  In addition to the fundamentals, they will learn how to properly steal bases, play every position and know where to go with the baseball.  Throughout the season these players can also be called up to play in a Rookie game when needed.  At the end of the season our most advanced Jr Rookie players will participate in 2 fun tournaments. Our Junior Rookies will play their games on the Tball field.

Rookie Division Baseball Age 7 & 8

Our Rookie Division is designed primarily for ballplayers ages 7-8, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.

Rookies is an instructional division designed to help build the confidence of all our players.  All kids will continue to build on the fundamentals they have learned while learning new skills.  Players will begin to learn how to pitch and hitters will see live pitching from kids and coaches for 2 innings while using a pitching machine for 4 innings.  They will continue to learn team work and competition while continuing to have fun!

During the season, baseball 8's will be given the opportunity to play in our Minor division when needed.  At the end of the season, our 7U's will participate in local tournaments and our most advance 8U's will be selected to our District All Star team and represent Aston Valley in the Cal Ripken Tournament trail as well as local tournaments.  Our Rookie games are played on the Rookie field which is located in the  front right of the complex.

All players will continue to build on the fundamentals they have learned while learning new skills.  Players will play on the 46/60 field and no longer use the pitching machine.  Hitters will see live pitching from players for 6 innings.  They will continue to learn team work and competition while continuing to have fun!  During the season, baseball 10's will be given the opportunity to play in our Major division when needed.
