'S&K AUTO/TOWING' EARN 17TH ANNUAL JESSE ALES MEMORIAL SECOND PLACE
S& K Auto & Towing (Lakeport, CA) had a great tourney over the weekend. The Lake County team started out by edging the always dangerous Dick's Place team 11-10, then defeating 2013 tourney runner up Ales Transporting 10-4 and knocked off the "Odd Balls" before being sent to the loser's bracket where they edged defending champ Tri-County 11-10 to get in the chamionship game.

POWERHOUSE TRI-COUNTY CAPTURES THIRD PLACE IN 16TH ALES MEMORIAL...

Thank you and congratulations to Bart Buckner manager of Tri County for a great showing at the 2014 Jesse Ales Memorial Softball Tournament in Fort Bragg, California.
We could only find affable Bill "Bart" Buckner, the pitcher of the third place finishers Tri-County team in the Jesse Ales Memorial Softball Tournament, when we arrived at the tourney Sunday afternoon and he was nice enought to show us the trophy his team earned.
In return, we figure we'd provide a couple game photos we took of Buckner during the tourney.
The Tri-County team was edged 11-10 by S&K Auto in the "Loser Bracket" final game that determined who'd face the undefeated All Coast team at Pavioni Field.
MCRPD HAD TRI COUNTY 3RD PLACE FINISH PHOTO
We should have known Scot Mullin, MCRPD Program Coordinator and director of the 17th Annual Jesse Ales softball tourney, would have the team photo of the third place finishers (and three-time defending champ) Tri-County. In fact, the team was champion every year since 2006 (excluding 2010 when "All Coast All Most" took the title) and have "won it all" 9 out of the 17 years the tourney has been played.

THERE IT GOES--Steven Young along with teammate (and MVP) Matt Freitas were named to the All League team for the Champion "All Coast" team. The slugger went 11-for-19 in the tourney. with Steven Young.
GARRETT THORNTON HOMERUN IN ALES SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
If there was one thing the "All Coast" team did on their way to the 17th Jesse Ales Memorial Championship last weekend it was "hit."
Here, Garrett Thornton sends a titanic blast to right centerfield that didn't have a chance of being caught. The ball may have burned up upon re-entry to the atmosphere...
All Coast went on to win the championship game 27-7 and Thornton and teammate James Vasser went on to be selected to the "All League" team...

MAKING A CONNECTION--Dick's Place Theron Miller earned All League honors by connecting 8-for-13 times at the place for the Lansing Street-based lounge.

BYE BYE BABY--Tim Gitchel was named to the All League team from Mendocino's Dick Place. He was 8-for-13 at the late in the tourney

'ALL COAST' HAS IMPRESSIVE OUTINGS ON WAY TO ALES TITLE
The "All Coast" softball team is the Champion of the 16th Annual Jesse Ales Memorial Softball Tournament. They won five straight games thanks to great defense and some heavy bats - and won the close contests.
The team started off with a 19-15 victory over "Racks & Tracks" then dominated the "Wreckers" 11-3. Next up was "Big River" whom they beat 16-12 then a 18-0 shellacking of S&K Auto in the finale of the winners bracket.
The championship game was against the same S&K team as they battled out of the loser's bracket - the result was a 27-7 win for "All Coast."
Here's the box score from that Championship game. As you can see, the game should have been over in the fourth inning with the score 20-4, but it was played the complete seven innings.:
S & K AUTO 4 0 0 00 2 1 0 = 07
ALL COAST 2 6 2 10 4 3 x = 27
