Coach Jokela's VFW squads made back-to-back appearances in the state tournament with two district championships in his first two years as coach (2009, 2010). He took over a VFW program that had folded during the middle of the previous season due to lack of participation.

Coach Jokela, who works primarily with outfielders, helped lead the 2010 JV team to a 15-2 record in his first season as a JV coach.
