Boys Travel Director

The Boys Travel Director is a member of the RYBA Board of Directors, and participates in regular meetings.

Coordination and administration skills are important in this role. An understanding of basketball, and a willingness to guide the efforts of developing young players are important.

This director's work includes several key jobs done generally from July to September in preparation for the season. These include

• leading the team effort to hire coaches;
• helping with registration;
• organizing tryouts;
• and enrolling teams in tournaments for the upcoming season.

In season, the Director manages the Boys Travel budget in collaboration with the RYBA Treasurer. Duties also include arranging Practice Times for the Boys Travel teams through the RYBA Gym Coordinator.

Two responsibilities of previous Directors have being broken off and have been assumed by other volunteers, namely, (a) website maintenance and communication, and (b) equipment and uniform management. Now the Travel Director will only direct the volunteer work in these two areas.

As a member of the Board of Directors, the Boys' Travel Director works in coordination with the RYBA President and in collaboration with the Directors of the Girls Travel Program and the Boys and Girls In-House Programs.
