The only reason I Go to the races is to see superstocks, If only 6 or 7 show up I think alot of people will not come to the races.

Happened at EVS, no V8s last year, closed this year. 4 cylinders and street stock are a good filler until the real cars hit the track.

Engine size don't matter! Not many v8's being made these days. There's Turbo 4 cyl's on the road that will blow the doors off V8's. They should let the Turbo 4's run.

have to increase payout to have more drivers attend on a regular basis.especially if you want the super stockers to keep racing at the track.if i would vent ure a guess the amount of money paid out may cover the cost of getting the car towed to the track and back home plus the gas burned on race day.maybe a few dollars left if you win the main.nobody just living on a regular pay cheque with a family coming out to race every week like that.thats just basic economics of every day living.especially only for hobby racing.

Key word is Hobby...don't expect the fans to pay for your hobby?

i have to agree.no one helps to pay for my hobbies.

hobby is something you do in your spare time.not very often you make money off it unless you are a coin or stamp collector who happen to have a rare find fall in your lap.but that is a 1 in a million happening.

I disagree

I strongly disagree that the fans won't help pay for your hobby. If the fans want to see racing bad enough, they'll pay. I agree the fans won't pay for your hobby if it's stamp collecting or something, but not too many people do something as exciting and crowd pleasing as racing for a hobby.

cant price youself out of business though.you cant expect the fans to fork out alot more to get into see you guys race at avondale.i already know of people who wont go .they say it is to expensive.8.00 bucks to get in gas money to get their and back plus a snack your there most of the afernoon.kills around 20.00 bucks for each adult considering where you live and you are by yourself.if you have to bring the kids you can double that to anywhere between 40.00 and 50.00 bucks for an afternoon of entertainment.if you ask me thats a good bit of money for a family afternoon of entertainment.which sometimes is not that good.

Will this is 2007, there was higher prize money in racing @ the goulds speedway 10 years ago, gas prices was not @ $123 a litre. Why do all drivers have to pay at the gate, when they are the ones that draw the fans?

drivers have to pay admission at the gate every time they show to race u must be joking.i hope they dont have to pay the full price of a pit pass which is ten bucks i think.let them registar a certain amount of people on the pit crew say 3for 10.00 anyone after that has to pay the 10.00 for the pit pass.just away to keep the cost for the teams down.ten bucks every sunday for every member of the team adds up after a summer of racing which is usually around 20 weeks.you do the math 4 people including pit crew on a team for 20 weeks adds up to 800.00 bucks that is just one team.

Just for the fun of it,lets see.4 crew plus driver= 50 bucks to get into the pit area, approx 30 bucks for gas for a good race day in super stock,40-50 bucks to tow your car there depending on where you live.Lets not forget the spare parts such as belts, hoses, oil and filters,oh lets not forget the spare tires because the great track condition almost never takes a new tire just for the fun of it.Let me see did I miss anything,oh food and drink for five people to not go hungry on sunday there is a small cost of,what40 or 50 bucks ? Now how are we doing for that after noon hobbie, and what about the repairs when you get back home, very expensive hobbie from my point of view. And all to bring fans to the track so the owner can make a few bucks.

I agree I think its outragess that the drivers have to pay, without them Bern doesnt have anything. This is what the fans come to see.I think hes making enough money without charging the drivers. Im shocked this topic has not came up before now!Your right every Sunday I go with 2 kids,20 bucks to get in 10 dollars for gas, then another 15 spent at the bus & canteen.Thats 45 total.I can see the drivers and teams speending a hell of alot more and get paid almost nothing for winning!!!!!!!

HELL WHAT I THINK ALL DRIVERS SHOULD PUT THE OWNER IN HIS PLACE, DRIVERS SHOULD NOT PAY AT THE GATE, IF ANYTHING THE OWNER SHOULD BE PAYING THE DRIVERS.

I've been to alot of races at alot of different speedways, and at every single track I've been to the drivers and crews pay to get in the pits to race. Right or wrong, that's just the way it is, and I don't see it changing any time soon. You have to realize that without that pit gate, alot of tracks wouldn't make enough at the main gate to pay the drivers, and they'd lose alot of money. Avondale would probably fall into that category.

I have to agree with the previous post. I have been to many short tracks in the USA and Central Canada where most Genaral Admission prices are usually $10 to $12. I usually go to the Pits where the Admision price is normally $20 to $25. The Drivers at Avondale Speedway are receiving quite a deal at just $10 to get into the Pits!

if the last 2 posts are true.then maybe the drivers at avondale are not being charged enough.put up the cost of your pit passes bern and the price of admission.then we can see what happens.you know what will happen.end of avondale speedway.

Admission price is reasonable a bargin considering what they are charging at mile one. If the v8 wants more money then put up the pit gate prices.

I guess that the person that said they were at other tracks and had to pay to get into the pits must have been racers or how would they know what the teams had to pay."reply to fan of racing"

i bet there is a big difference in the racing at those tracks in central canada and the u.s. avondale is only a track for pretty much hobby racers not pros spending $100,000's on cars with big sponsors and big payouts to the winners.i can see having to pay for that kind of pro setup not a hobby track like avondale.they probaly have a real pit with garages up there to fix there cars with the best kind of tools money can buy.$10.00 for a pit pass at avondale is plenty i think.
