| Oh no! No speedway means no message board! I will have no more reason to remain on planet earth! They will be coming to take me back to my planet for sure! I'll have to find a good hiding place! I know, I'll hide in the office of the Maple Leafs GM(whomever that may be!) Nobody seems to want to go there, so they'll never find me there! lol

| can you blame them.no one in there right mind would take that job unless they have full control.thats means they have to get rid of that peddie guy also but thats not going to happen he is making the teachers fund millions in other investments besides the leafs.should have fired jfj last summer then hired scotty to run the ship.yes i do mean scotty bowman.you must find that hard to believe me saying hire an ex hab.an ex sabre also.

| The thing is, that's the way it's always been with the Leafs! Woulda coulda shoulda! Sure, they should've hired Scotty, but like you said, the person hired should have full control, but no GM or team president of the Leafs has ever had full control! This goes back to the Ballard days! The Leafs don't hire GMs, they hire puppets, and I can't see Scotty Bowman being anybody's puppet! It doesn't matter who own or runs the Leafs, they all eventually come to the same conclusion! Why spend alot of money to build a winner when the fans will fill the building even if they don't win for another hundred years? When they do shell out the bucks, it's to the wrong players, guys like McCabe and Blake! I find it kind of funny cause every off-season you hear rumours that the Leafs are going after this guy or that guy, big impact players that will turn the team into instant Cup contenders! It's funny, 'cause those guys never seem to sign there! Don't kid yourself, they're not trying as hard to sign them as you think! It's like what the late Bill Wirtz once told one of his GMs, he told him don't start thinking about winning any Stanley Cups, 'cause those things are expensive! Maybe I could hide out there and maybe they'll offer me the GM job! I'll take it for a year then trade away the good players they do have and collect a nice paycheck then don't resign and live in comfort for the next few years! I don't know how nice the paycheck would be, but as long as I have enough to go to the hockey and races and eat lots of shrimp!
