OF COURSE SCRUFFLES HAPPEN IN THIS PHYSICAL IN EMOTIONAL SPORT BUT HITTING OTHER PLAYERS IS A NO TOLERANCE OFFENSE. IT CAN NOT BETTER OUR PRODUCT AT ALL. THIS IS NOT TO EXPLOIT LEMAR BUT TO SPOTLIGHT THE PENALTIES FOR FIGHTING... LAMAR IS BEING SUSPENDED FOR 1 GAME AND FINED $100 TO RETURN...ANY GAME HE PLAYS IN UNTIL THE SUSPENSION AND THE FINE IS RESOLVED WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT FOR THE OILERS. THIS SAME PENALTY APPLYS TO ANYONE WHO FIGHTS AT AN HFFL GAME.

yes the money will be going into my pocket faster than you can blink!.... but in actuality the fine does not have to be paid..... the oilers do not have to pay... he can just sit out im really looking forward for anyone who throws a punch to NEVER pay the fine and sit out as i take it as them insulting my business and costing the hffl more by maybe causing teams or people not to come or paticipate our event... the fine is a warning and a penalty... designed for the individuals (to be honest) to quit.

yeah this website sucks.....26,000 visits and running, but ill never spend that $100 on a website id rather by daddy a new pair of "gators" (no pun intended) instead. keep the insults coming pawns... check mate

i think thats a slap on the wrist for a player throwing a punch. its embarracing to the league, a disgrace to his team, and certainly bad for business. people bring their wives and children out there and if this is going to continue to be a place where families can enjoy coming to the park to watch flag football, this has to be nipped immediately.

realistically the teams should also be held accountable for their players:

-first offense from team, player should be suspended 2 games and fined $200.
-second offense from any player on that team, the team should be suspended for a game.
-second offense from same player on team, player should be dismissed from the league for the rest of the season.
-third offense from that team, team should be dismissed for the rest of the season.

(if you dont like it, be more selective when putting your team together)

im pretty sure the HFFL wants to be known as a league where athletes and football players get together and compete- not a league where street thugs and gangsters get together and fight.

First of Voice, I hope you was at the game and saw what actually happened before you come on here runnin ur mouth about anything. Nobody in this league is perfect and we all make mistakes but to be honest with you, WE ARE ALL GROWN MEN so if another GROWN MAN jumps up into MY face and puts his hands on me in any way that has nothin to do with football, I'M GONNA FUCK HIM UP TOO! That so-called MAN had no business puttin his hand on MY teammate cuz the play was over and he pushed my teammate so my teammate did what any other MAN would have done......HE PROTECTED HIMSELF! If grown ass men can't take being roughed up in a physical sport then maybe they should go play GOLF! I agree with the suspension but the $100 to me is a lil too steep when he barely hit the dude. If that's the case, HE SHOULDA KNOCKED HIS OUT! Then the $100 woulda been worth it.

Zo- i think whoever innitiated the fight should be punished too, its nothing personal against Lamar or his team, there just has to be a standard set other wise this league will turn into a zoo or a freak show.

understand that its never what happens, it always comes down to how you respond to what happens and fighting isnt the answer- i mean what does that prove that your a "tough guy". all the players should and need to use better judgement in the heat of the moment or that moment could be their last.

and your right- if im you i would protest the fact that the other player who put his hands on Lamar was not dealt with, but not coming on here justifying your players retaliation because once he retaliated he was wrong too and his punishment was fair for his partake.

on a side note, you guys have a good thing going dont let this 1 minor mistake turn into the collapse of your season. do the right thing do the professional thing, rally around this as a team and move forward- theres a lot more football to play, in the future, tell Lamar to just use better judgement.

THIS IS NOT A BIG DEAL UNLESS YOU MAKE IT ONE

I've played and coached sports at some pretty high levels, and I think it goes without saying, the second person always gets caught, or gets the brunt of the punishment.

With that being said, a situation in a physical sport like football CAN NOT be handled the way a physical situation would be handled anywhere else in the world. There are ways to handle situations in all scenarios in life (right way, wrong way).

Football is physical, physical activities bring out anger and aggression. You have to assume that emotions are going to get the best of players, and at times, players are going to retaliate after "physical plays, rough plays" with PUSHING, SHOVING, SWEARING, VERBAL THREATS. All of these things should NEVER LEAD TO PUNCHING SOMEONE.

I understand the whole disrespect thing, and the whole "don't put your hands on me," but you can't retaliate in a competitive sport environment, you gotta walk away and let the rules take care of those situations. You can say it's "pussy" or "weak" or whatever, but that's how you handle situations like that in Sports and in Professional work situations.

I'm a teacher and a coach at the High School level... and if a parent got in my face (which has happened) and put their hands on me (which also has happened) I would have to handle it as a PROFESSIONAL.

Voice ur absolutely right and I agree with you 100%, Mar really should have used better judgement. The should be ZERO TOLERANCE for fighting and anyone who has anything do with the fight should be fined and suspended not just the one who swung first. Like you said, hopefully we as a team will rally around Mar, lift him back up, and bring it even harder this Sunday.
