Questionable Officiating

Yesterday a play was called by the eagles where a receiver left the huddle and stud directly on the sideline, "I mean standing ON the sideline". With his team behind him to disguise the receiver a pass was thrown to the obviously uncovered receiver. (Touchdown...?) Are you shittin me? If there are no rules to prohibit teams from standing a certain distance from the side line, how could this have been allowed? Is there a rule as to how far a receiver must be from his side line?

Next- A players flag was removed while he was running down the side line. That player held on to his flag (IN HIS HAND) and proceeded to run down the sideline... (Touchdown)...? WTF is going on with the officiating in this league when these plays are let alone discussed, but allowed?

No disrespect to the Eagles... Damn good job at doing what yall do. This is football and you play through any questionable calls. This just happened to be two Big calls that need to be addressed.

In Ct high school football, you have to break the huddle with 11 so I would assume in this league, you have to break the huddle with 9. As long as you break the huddle with the proper amount of players, then its a legal play. Although, that receiver that is split out, can not talk to the sideline or be disguised by the sideline.

No player may be within a yard of the side line before the start of the play. That is in any flag football rule book. The ref is supposed to be standing on the sideline and should be enforcing that .

there was only two refs.. no line judge in that game... and none of the refs ran with the play.. thats the problems.

Do you...wait, Have you...no..Is this your first year in this league? Have you ever played football? Have you ever been to a football game before? I ask these questions cause you either know nothing about football or never played in this league before. In ANY football you can be where ever the fuck you want to be on the field as long as your onsides. You guys got caught on what is known as the "SLEEPER" play..and Obvi you guys were sleeping....Heres a free football tip(it won't cost you a game or your pride like the last tip haha) for you all.....COUNT THE PEOPLE ON THE FIELD, you dumbasses....This is the oldest trick play in the book!!! I can't believe.....nevermind....To answer your remedial question simply...It's a totally legal play. As long as you are onsides, you can be anywhere on the field of play, there is NO set distance you have to be from the sideline. I can't believe this is even a question. I'm ambarrassed to be in this league now, with people who don't know squat about football. CASH you gotta start a screening process for teams come Fall...FOOTBALL IQ has to be atleast a 75 to play or post things on the board. You can watch games and visit the site (so you still get your hits CASH. lol)But you can't post things on the board, I feel dumber just for reading that dumbass post. Now I gotta go watch every football movie I own just to feel like myself again, thanks.

Smitty, the only issue with that is in any other type of football a receiver must be set before the play starts. In collage and the pros all bench players must stand away from the sideline. Therefore distinguishing themselves from the players on the field. When have you ever seen a receiver be standing so close to there sideline that it appears that he is another member of the bench? Sleeper my ass. A guy named smitty questioning someone's IQ (Please)...

they gotta be inside the official as well so if it was the wide side the official is usually a couple yards on the field and they must lineup inside him. You also cant be ON the sideline as that is not in the field and if you leave the playing field you cant come back on the field either... smitty youre an idiot and make us all dumber reading your posts

If you stupid ass fuckers knew the rules you would know that you have to be 5 yards on the field at the snap of the ball and at least 15 yards from the huddle at all time, so read and learn the rules, or continue to be dumb asses just like those stupid ass refs

I love reading all the BS on this site, and while I've never posted before I'm gonna throw it out there real simple for any and all of you who still have doubts or want to whine about this shit
Besides the simple FACTS -
#1 - He was in the huddle
#2 - He was lined up "inside the ref" - away from sideline
#3 - It is the oldest trick in the book (but there was only 28 seconds left in the half so we pulled it out the bag of tricks)
#4 - Your defense didn't listen to Dwight when he pointed out the WR
#5 - TWO PEOPLE on your team missed #21's flag - (not the refs fault)
And Finally - AND MOST IMPORTANTLY -
The Final score was 21 - 13.....Even if you take away that TD AND the One Point Conversion.....
YOU STILL WOULD'VE LOST.... GOT IT!!!!
I've got mad respect for the Saints and all other teams that take the fields at Colt Park on Sundays, but come on already with the Crying BS -
Take the Loss as a team, learn a little bit about communication from it, and MOVE ON

to my teammate who posted this, if it is a teammate. Let's face it... No one really knows who posted it because they left off a name. So, let's leave the assumptions aside. Of course, let's all believe the SAINTS are crying that is the easy assumption. I understand... The game is over. We know the refs are going to make bad calls. It's the way it is. Can you control it? NO. So, a dude runs down the sideline with a flag in his hand. Next time hit him or something!. Cornerbacks... you're playing fuckin' the defense we set forth. do your job! Simple. If you have no man in front of you, there is a problem. Let the refs do what they do. SMoke, blow calls, and make the best calls they can possibly see. Let the effort we put into a game dictate how the game unfolds. Eagles, you played a good game, but let's not make this personal. Poppie and I go way back and I have a lot of respect for him. He's a respectful dude and I would expect nothing less of his players. No one knows who posted this and there is no proof that it was by a Saint, or by an onlooker. Bottom line. That said, let's all just play football and leave the assumptions out this. Done.
