Games to Watch:
Week 8- Playoffs are approaching, everybody is jostling for position

Southington Knights vs. NEFA Vikings- There are some good games for Week 8 of the HFFL. The Vikings are coming off 2 wins last Sunday. Starting QB Scott Dolch has not been to the last 2 games. Backup QB Jeff Russell has picked up the slack getting 2 much needed wins for the Vikings. His go to WR is Ivan Schmitt, his numbers somewhat down from last season, but still the biggest threat in the league when used correctly. Dustin Linden is the current sack leader (10 total sacks), and a top D Lineman. The Knights have Jon “Ish” Esmail leading the way for them. He has 14 Passing Touchdowns on the season. His biggest weapon on offense is Steve Angiletta who is coming off his first and much deserved Offensive Player of the Week award. He has 325 Receiving Yards and 6 Touchdowns on the year. Defensively Thad Scott leads the way, coming into the game with 14 Flag Pulls and 7 Sacks. This one should be an entertaining game from start to finish.

Player Spotlight: Jon “Ish” Esmail- Here is another chance for Ish to add to the incredible season he has had. He can beat another proven opponent to clearly show the Knights are the best team in the HFFL.

Southington Warriors vs. Enfield Starrs- This should be an exciting game at 12:45. The Starrs have come in as an unknown team and are 6-1. A lot of talk about their team facing lower level opponents, but they have handled their business with an impressive 5 shutouts. QB Josh Spence has had a great season so far, passing for 1127 Yards and 21 Touchdowns. Patrick Luckett is his go to wideout, having 25 Catches, 400 plus yards and 9 TDs on the year. Defensively they are a tough unit . Tenius Mcluster (6 Sacks) and Corey Ferguson (6 sacks) lead the way for them. The Warriors have had a pretty impressive season . They are 4-3 and have lost only to quality opponents (Young Gunz Knights and Oilers). QB Josh Withee is a big reason for the Warriors strong season Withee comes in having 973 Yards and 14 Touchdowns. He has also rushed for 350 yards and 3 TD’s. Top Target Nick “Rambo” Colagiovanni leads the league in WR yards, with 464. He also has 7 Touchdowns. Chase Mayoussier is their star LB he has 23 flag pulls and 7 Sacks on the year. This is certainly a game to keep your eye on this week.

Player Spotlight: Nick “Rambo” Colagiovanni vs. Patrick Luckett- 2 top of the line WRs face off this week. It will be fun to watch these 2 battle it out head to head and see who truly is the better wideout.

Game of the WEEK- New Britain Young Gunz vs. Massachusetts Ravens- This is the first true test for the Ravens from Mass. They have had a pretty easy ride, defeating their opponents with ease most weeks. QB Jose Colon has been a threat from the passing game (8 TD passes and 448 yards) and also from the rushing game (111 Yards, TD). Alex Robles is their starting RB, he comes in with 170 rushing yards and 2 TDs. Lonnie Jackson has been their most impressive player on defense he enters the game with 12 flag pulls and 3 Interceptions. Their defense has proved to be pretty stingy this year, and they sure will need it against the Young Gunz. For the Gunz, we all know their credentials. Chris Roberts is their star QB, putting together an MVP like season. He has 992 Yards and 18 Touchdowns. Their 3 headed monster at WR core of David Sanchez(158 Yards, 2 TDs), Adamis “Pito” Gonzalez(194 Yards, 3 TDs) and Elfren Quiles(160 Yards, 5 TDs) is probably the steadiest WR core in the League. Throw in Eric Elliot at RB and there is a complete offense. Defensively Michael “Chief” Patterson is there go to guy and leader. He is coming off his first defensive POW award and has 14 Flag Pulls and 6 sacks on the year. This has the potential to be a great game to say the least. This one could go either way, can the Gunz stop the undefeated team or can the Ravens step up and beat a proven opponent. We will find out in 2 days.

Player Spotlight: Jose Colon- Ravens QB has managed a great season so far this year. This will be the best defense he will face, and in order to win the Ravens will need a stellar performance from their leader.

i would like to give the Knights "Team" more credit than whats being publicized. Ish is an average quarter back surrounded by above average talent and its not just Steve A. if you dont take my word for it go watch the knights play this weekend.

Ish should be the manager of the year for putting together such a strong unit. of all the top teams in this league offensively Ish is surounded by the most talent front to back and they are making him look good. as i watch this team play Ish's throws are off, he has happy feet in the pocket, and he doesnt always make good decision as he fails to see wide open recievers on every other play.

if he is in the running for an mvp trophy it should be presented to the knights offense as a whole. it should read "mvp of the hffl- the knights offense"

the knights have too much talent offensively to be only averaging 19 pts per game. Ish shouldnt be under the player spot light, he should be under the radar for under performing with all that talent on offense. if you take a qb with more precision, the knights offense would score 40 or better every outting. THIS IS NOT A SHOT AT "ISH" it just giving a bigger credit to the knights "team"

if the steelers had those offensive weapons, they would be sitting #1 and undefeated too.

The voice is right...I am an average quarterback with tons of weapons...if you refer to my posts when the season started I said I have the best talent around me and if we lose it is 100% my fault...I pride myself in being a team player and surrounding myself with the best possible team football players I can find...the reason I started playing quarterback is because I was sick of playing on the line...I understand how to manage the game, keep the other teams defense on the field while ours isnt...40 points a game looks great but when you are scoring quick and giving the other team a 3-4 possessions more a game whats the point...if I wanted to score I would just run fade to anyone of my freak rec. it is that easy...every person who plays on our offense gets touches and opportunities to make plays...Please dont bring up the steelers because they have weapons lets be serious...Im cool with 21-0 or 26-6 games...a W is a W...I love my teammates and I love the knights...make me what you want to make me...I'm okay with just being a winner...

i dont agree. i think Enfield starrs have the best Talent wise. maybe not linemen but D and offense play makers. There WR core can run with anyone and TE.
