AROUND THE LEAGUE WEEK1

 Maine Events

Young Gunz vs. Steelers – The is the game everybody wanted to see, was another classic for the record books. The Steelers were very close but it seemed like that strong Young Gunz rush led by Michael Chief Peterson and Stampede Watson was too much for Steelers new QB Jaime Rocket Bryant to handle up front. Chris Roberts put in his usual workload throwing for 2 TDs and 144 Yards through the air. Rocket played well in his debut start at QB, but the Young Gunz took this one 20-13. Steelers make big mistake by not starting Rocket at QB.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME

Chris Roberts (144 Passing Yards, 2 TDs)

Michael Peterson/Hamp Stampede (5 Flag Pulls, 4 sacks combined)

Franchise vs. Vikings It looked like Team Franchise was looking to silence any would be doubters on their Cinderella like season last year and they may just have done that. MVP Devaughn "Pig" Meade put together a performance like he usually does with 3 rushing touchdowns for nearly 50 yards on the ground. For the Vikings star QB Scott Dolch passed for 100 yards and a TD and WR Bobby Lorenti had a strong performance with 5 catches, 82 yards and a touchdown but it was not enough as Franchise wins 18-7

PLAYERS OF THE GAME

Devaughn Meade (3 Rushing TDs)

Carl Randolph (5 Flags, 1 sack)

Bearcats vs. Oilers The Bearcats went up early 20-7 and never really looked back. Former MVP QB Josh Spence Passed for 250 plus Yards and 4 touchdowns, and newcomer WRs Kert Hussey and Jeff Russell also scored 2 Touch Downs a piece. For the Oilers, not all was bad. They did fight back into this game, Mark Moore ran for 110 yards and a TD, and also passed for 116 yards and 2 TDs also. Lorenzo GIlliam had 4 catches for 100 Yards as well.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME
