But these are the write ups

Eagles vs. Bulldogs

I would say this game had some people around the league screaming upset but to me it wasn’t really an upset. Brian Gelsomino led a pretty solid game plan behind his 208 Yards and 3 TDs. Something to watch is his high INT rate vs. better teams as he had 3 in this game but he played well considering. His go to targets on the day were Bryce Metzger with 75 Yards and a TD and Eugene Miller with 42 Yards and 2 TDs. Defensively speaking, C-Town Cockfield intercepted the Bulldogs 2 times with 4 flags to go with those 2 INTs. Brett Burnham also played solid at linebacker with 4 flag grabs. The Bulldogs had some trouble punching in offensively which was surprising. Mike Cervizzi passed for 229 Yards and 1 TD but also threw 2 interceptions as well. His top receiving option was Tyrece Nickson with 94 Yards and a TD. Defensively Dan Correa had a great game with 3 sacks and also Jamaica Johnson had 4 flag grabs and 3 sacks as well. The Eagles get a lot of hate, they seem to be a team who is involved with a lot of controversy on the web site which usually adds to the hate but they are a solid team all around. Their offense is very talented, and their defense is underrated. They have to beat the YGs to secure a definite playoff position which is their hardest task of the year. The Bulldogs have been unusually struggling as of late. A few close games and they finally played a team to pull out a win. We will see if this hurts them moving forward, but they are still the favorites out of their conference for the time being.

Player of the Game- Brian Gelsomino- 208 Passing Yards, 44 Rushing Yards, 3 TDs

Young Gunz vs. Hit Squad

This game is currently under review due to an illegal player being on the field. The Young Gunz came out and put it on the Hit Squad with or without the illegal player. Chris Roberts passed for 128 Yards and 2 TDs. Chris Lane had 44 receiving yards and a TD. On defensive Todd “Showtime” Hill had 6 flag grabs and 2 sacks. If there was a “Comeback Player of the Year” award, I think Showtime Hill would be deserving of this. Chris Gotay also put in a great days work with 3 flag grabs and 2 interceptions. The Hit Squad didn’t do anything impressive to speak of truthfully. They were beat on every aspect of the game. The only worth statistics worth mentioning would be Taurean Gaston with 4 sacks and Sean “Smooth” Haynes who had 3 flag grabs and 2 sacks. Other than that, their offense has been downright ugly to watch since the departure of Rocket. A lot of people had high hopes for Hit Squad but they have fallen back into the Open division where they probably will not win a game without the return of Jamie Bryant. Young Gunz did what is expected as they do every week. Beat down an inferior opponent. They did what they had to do, right now the details are being worked out whether a forfeit will happen but either way, the Young Gunz won this game hands down.

Player of the Game- Todd “Showtime” Hill- 6 flag grabs, 2 Sacks

Knights vs. Vikings

Another controversial game as Jon “Ish” Esmails name was mysteriously absent from the Knights roster either before, or after the game vs. the Vikings. Another really meaningless part of this story as the Knights destroyed the Vikings and have finally appeared to be the team that was missing for the first 4 weeks. Scott Bard passed for 281 Yards and 3 TDs. Sean Aldieri was his top threat on offense with 136 Yards receiving. Also Garry Coles continues his dominance in the CFFL with another 70 yards TD reception. Defensively Coles and Aldieri were the standouts as well with each player recording 5 flag grabs. Steve Angiletta also had a pick 6 to go with some strong offensive plays too. The Vikings are a shadow of what they used to be. Their only constant is Ivan Schmidt week in and week out. Backup QB Dan Clark had a solid day again with 216 Yards and 2 TDs. He also threw 3 interceptions and a costly pick 6. Schmidt had 107 Yards and a TD grba for the Vikings. On defense there wasn’t a ton of stats to report. Raheem Stanley recorded 2 flag grabs and a sack. The Vikings know they are headed to the open and have had a disappointing season but they show up every week and play hard, the respect for the Vikings around the league is still there. For the Knights, another must win game where they came out and got it done. Every game was important down the stretch for them and they have performed very well in these games.

Player of the Game- Sean Aldieri- 136 Receiving Yards, 5 Flag Grabs

Cowboys vs. Havoc

This was a must win game for the Cowboys who needed 2 wins to secure their playoff hopes. They got one in a close fought battle with Havoc. Jose “Gor” Rosario had a solid day with 162 Yards and 2 TDs. Rick Padilla was the story who rushed for 134 Yards and a TD and he also had a 15 yard td reception to go with that. Rob Hernandez also made a nice catch and run with a 71 yard td catch for the Cowboys. Hec Morales was the top performer on defense with 3 flag grabs and a Sack. Marvin Perez also had 5 flags. It appears Havoc had a backup QB in wearing #58. Statwise he didn’t do too bad with 113 Yards and 2 TDs. Alex Robles had 43 rushing yards and a TD and receiving Ray Phillips caught for 50 yards and 2 TDs. The same #58 also had 5 flags on defense and 1 Interception as well. The Cowboys are a team who has benefited from a generous schedule and they go out every week and handle their business. Some teams may think that they haven’t played as hard of a schedule as you would have hoped, but they don’t control whose on their schedule and have played strong most of the year and have earned their stripes. Havoc was 3 points away from keeping this one close. It appears Havoc is improving and have already secured the top seed in their division. Their conference isn’t the strongest, but again they handled their business and will be in the playoffs as the number 2 seed in the NFC.

Player of the Game- Rick Padilla- 134 Yards Rushing, 15 Yards Receiving, 2 TDs

Bearcats vs. Oilers

This game had upset alert written all over it early but ended up being a blowout by the final whistle. The Oilers staked out to a 12 point lead and appeared to have the Bearcats on the ropes but it didn’t last more than 2 drives for them. Bearcats QB Josh Spence stayed poised and led his team on 5 total scoring drives in this game. He passed for 254 Yards and 5 TDs. His goto targets Patrick Luckett (123 Yards, TD) and Dawud Hanif (97 Yards, 3 TDs) both unstoppable in this game. Defensively Tim Mason had 4 flag grabs and 1 INT for the Bearcats. The Oilers played great for 2 drives but were nonexistent for the remainder of the game. Mark Moore passed for 112 Yards and 2 TDs. Geddeon Torres caught a 52 Yard TD pass on offense. Defensively speaking, they didn’t get enough stops to keep this game close. Michael Jiminez had 2 flag grabs and a sack for the Oilers. The Oilers are in a place they are unfamiliar with. 0 wins going into the last week. This is the SEC and they just have been unlucky most of the year, they were outplayed in this game by a better team. The Bearcats have gained some life back after a rough stretch in the heart of their schedule. They play the Assassins Sunday and have a chance to lock the 3 seed in the NFC with a victory.

Player of the Game- Josh Spence- 254 Passing Yards, 5 TDs

Assassins vs. Raiders

This game was an early blowout for the Assassins. They played one of the worst teams in the league and they came out and took care of business. Troy Brown passed for 139 Yards and 4 TDs. He spread the ball around to 4 different targets, Anthony Kaponis caught a 50 Yard TD and Frankie Camacho had 4 receptions and a TD on the day as well. On defense they were all over the Raiders from the opening kick. Anthony Kaponis had 5 flag grabs and a Sack and Jason Mussman also had 3 flag grabs and 3 sacks. Jose Nunez recorded 4 flags for the Assassins on defense too. We haven’t had a ton to report on the year for the Raiders. They have few names on their roster and few stats weekly to speak of. They struggled mightily for the entire game and really seem out of place in such a strong league. It may officially be time for the Beach Raiders to hang them up. They had a few solid seasons but have never done much in this league. The competition is just too tough for these guys. The Assassins put it on a pretty bad team. They have impressed and turned their forgetful seasons of the past into a productive season of the present. They have their biggest upcoming game of their year this coming Sunday vs. the Bearcats. If they win, they secure the 3 seed and will square off vs. Havoc in the first round. A loss would mean a first round battle with the Young Gunz which they hope to avoid. This will be a great game as both teams have a lot on the line.

Player of the Game- Troy Brown- 139 Yards, 4 TDs
