$1950 is what your team will spend going to Cleveland at the minimum. Would be nice to save that bread and have our own ladies states next year and see if some of the Cleveland teams come here... Im just saying.

| Thanks for the breakdown Mr. Elite Bartender BUT I've heard this arguement soooo many times! I'm sure the ladies would love to have the tounament here & save $$$ BUT whenever the tournament comes around....the ladies division is ALWAYS left out or we've been notified like a week before! If there is BETTER communication & planning....I'm sure the out of town teams will participate.

| I think the problem is, nobody ever knows who is going to run it until a few weeks before. Somebody needs to talk to Mike Cihon or Natalie a few months before to get the ball rolling for the ladies. If we could get 4 or 5 out of town teams here next year it could be off the hook. Plus double points.

| Good point in terms of the cost to travel vs staying home. I know for Most Wanted it was great bump last year from teams we don't get to see and really prepared us for nationals. That's why we're going again...plain and simple. Playing year round in spring, frostburg, mixing bowl, then fall we have seen the exact same teams. Yes the best competition is here but there are different styles and some quality teams from OH n Canada. Facing different competition will have your team more prepared for Florida.....period. If we were to get states here that's fine and well IF we're going to get teams other than teams from the DMV to participate which is the biggest challenge.

| Coach Tim i respect your opinion but if we do it right then the competetive teams will come here to play us. WE have the best teams not them. If yall , bad girls , lady all met and cougars all went to ohio who do you think would be top 3? My point is why run up there to play them when the competetion is right here. Your the champ so im sure you do whats best for your team.
I nominate Mr Elite Bartender also for next year to run the ladies states.

| yes we have the most competitive league but trust that there are great teams outside the DMV. Any when we go to these tournaments in OH, ATL, and FL we don't walk over those teams. It is great preparation. Dawk sports won nationals several times in a row and did we ever travel to Canada? No.
And yes it would be great if those teams would travel here but they don't. We play a more aggressive style of flag. I think it's your loss if you don't go.

| I think it's a point in both ways, but like someone said earlier...it just depends on your team. We were new last year so it was a good move to see other teams and get together as a team and bond. For all new teams I think it's a good move to go somewhere out of town and see something new and get your ladies to bond.

| Our goal is to play 3-4 tournaments a year along with league play. We will be hosting a tournament sometime next year. It seems that the DMV is the mecca of flag football especially in the women's 8 man division. We had 16 teams this season and I believe 13 in the spring. Ohio didn't have a spring league and I believe they had 7 teams in the fall. I don't believe there is an area that has as much participation in women's flag football as we do. That being said it's tougher to get teams to come here from my viewpoint. Seeing some other really good teams outside of our league will only benefit MW on and off the field.

| I feel you Coach B and Tim but why would any team from Ohio come here if we keep going there. Those are the OHIO states. MD States are this weekend here. Our states could be the biggest ladies tournament outside of nationals and i bet if we advertise right and in advance we could get out of town teams to come here.
Just dont make since to me that we had 16 teams in our league and we DONT have the state tournament for ladies , but OHIO had 7 teams in their league and they DO have States and 3 of our teams are going there. Just my opinion.

| There is actually room for it all. The only reason to have an issue with the Women's Regional taking place this weekend is because it confilicts with Maryland states. Please keep in mind that the Women's Regional in Ohio has been going on far longer than the DMV's recent surge in Women's flag on the USFTL scene. While women's flag football here has been vibrant for a couple of decades now, the USFTL has its roots firmly in Ohio. Anyone remember the ladies of Hennie Homes who dominated the USFTL nationals, winning more than 10 championships. You can see that DMV teams may have provided more competition, but I can tell you that those ladies were no joke and deserved all the accolades. Just like with the IWFFA tournaments that many DMV teams used to love to play in, culminating in the Key West experience, the teams there were more diverse but the play was not as aggressive. Bottom line, you can only benefit your team by exposing its players to as many different styles and competition as possible. If you want them to come here, you've got to got there too - vice versa...

| Good points Breeze but think about this, every year since 2006 the DMV has sent at least 1 team to Ohio. By your logic,next year at least one team should be coming here. It doesnt even have to be States. The Cougars hosted a good tournament over the summer that would have been perfect. Im not saying they wont come but if we put it out there and they have enough time to get ready then at LEAST 1 team should come here.

| All this talk about going there and here, the women and men are two different leagues and bodies of people. What happens with the USFTL and the men, has no place in the female league...If the DMV can get a tournament going and most of the teams participate then we will be there. Except the mixing bowl there is nothing here besides our league. I personally don't want to play the same teams all year long anyway...just our prefence

| trust me I really dislike the cougars, but I try to be very fair. I know for a fact it couldn't be anyone out of this league because again, no one knows cougars business like a cougar does. another fact, yes there are cougar players posting. not gonna lie a couple seasons back my old teammates would intentionally start drama within their team in the forum to bring it to the team attention as if it were outside looking in. its always the quiet non suspect ones too. but anyways, lets move on, the season is over. cougars aint never gonna change so its about time everyone get used to it and over it.

I don't know the coach or his wife but that is some in house shit you take care of behind closed doors.He could be the worst coach and she could be the worst player but to publicly display your dislike for them shows your level of class. By the way I think she is a good player and there ar 14 other teams that would settle for a championship a 1st place finish and a 3rd place finish, but 1 teams trash is another teams championship (MW).

| For the record Glenn and Antoinette are core to the Cougar family. Antoinette has been our go-to corner and receiver for several years and Glenn led us to a championship in his first year as coach and another successful season this fall. This whole thread is sad and disgusting and I have faith that no Cougar started this.

LC seems to be the most HATED team at Deanwood and why???
Congrats to MW for winning another championship, but for someone to call out a coach and his wife is down right disgraceful. No matter who started the negative thread we shouldn't continue feeding into the negativity.
This message board continues to show how black folks can never get together and do anything positive. Deanwood's Women's Flag football is not a household name & if anyone was to come here on this message board would assume that all teams and players are full of drama. We will never be able to get real sponsorship as long a people continue to have such a poor outlook of each other.
