I think it is sad how us as women refuse to support a breast cancer event. It seems like every time there is a posting of a team playing another one drop out. Because breast cancer affects so many women, some could be your mother, sister, friend, family or even you, there should be some sort of support. Flag 4 The Cure is a charity event that is raising money for assisting those with cancer, it should not be a event where you are looking to gain something. If this event could help your mother, sister, friend, family or yourself, please tell me why is it that we as women are not supportive. Please look at the reason why this event is taken place, not what you can gain.

Lady Flag Fan I feel your frustration fully. When I started this event three years ago I would have never thougth it would be like this. Seems like it's so hard to get support from the women's teams for a women's cause. My vision for this was to play for more than just trophies, bids, and USFTL points. This tournament is suppose to be about helping cancer victims fight. Honoring survivors like Linda, and Alicia who won the first two Award of Inspiration's. These people go thru so much and keep a smile on their face. We have the easy part just show up and play Flag in honor of them and those that didn't survive. But as dishearting as it is points and bids win out. It sad to me that more men are supporting the cause then women. Hopefully in the 4th annual event we can get some more woman participation. I hope everyone still come out and watch the games and support the cause.

Mr. Spriggs... Hopefully you will get the support next year. I will be there this weekend to support 100%. It looks bad seeing you have a 3:1 ratio for men teams and women teams supporting your charity. Your cause is excellent and I hope your next event will have more women supporting than this event. Let's remember to keep those in prayer that have cancer, are survivors, or has lost someone close to them.

really though

Refuse or aren't able to play?!? Just because all the teams aren't playing doesn't mean they refuse... Stop the ignorant rants because all the women teams can't participate in your event .... Be grateful you have the people that are playing NOW!

Wow!

Teams CAN support this event without playing in the tournament. Im sure you are accepting monetary donations as well. Please dont allow this event to be a blanket representation of the level of support from local women teams! Support for this disease is 365 days, 24/7 thus not solely based on our availability to play in a tournament this weekend. We are women first, football players second! This disease has and will impact almost every lady in the league.
It is not taken lightly.

Keep the energy positive and we look forward to supporting - in whatever capacity we are able!!
