Natalie,

Can you please explain why the Women paid the same registration fee as others, yet we had to play on the jacked up split/shortened fields and 75% of our games were after 6 pm leading into Midnight on Friday and Saturday.

USFTL needs to correct this in the future, 8 man and 35 and over were able to play on 100 yard fields. I understand that there were a lot of teams out there to schedule which is why there should have been enough fields reserved in the first place. It was unfair and I hope all teams complain.
Games & Entrance Fees:

9-Man Ineligible Lineman Flag (Click for info/registration)
8-Man Ineligible Lineman Flag..............................$490
Ineligible Lineman Masters Flag (35 & Over)..........$490
8-Man Flag (Everyone Eligible).............................$490
8-Man Masters Flag (35 & Over)...........................$490
7-Man Screen Flag..............................................$490
7-Man Screen Masters Flag (35 & Over).................$490
8-Man Co-Ed Flag...............................................$490
8-Woman Flag....................................................$490
7-Woman Screen Flag..........................................$490

By rule under the USFTL, the womens fields are shortened. The fields are never to be 100 yard fields, they're only supposed to be 80x40. Teams in this area have become spoiled by using 100 yard fields.

Other concerns may have been dead on but complaining about the field size for the womens game is a mute point...

women deserve the right to play on the same size playing field so it is not a mute point by any means. the rules need to be changed. women players are not kids and are capable of playing on a lerger playing field point blank period and deserve that respect.

This isnt a sexist/equality stance by the USFTL. Its just the their rules. 5man/4man/screen/and coed all play on a shorten field. Educate yourself before you attempt to turn this into a rallying cry for womens equality...

First off this wasn't a cry about women's inequality.. My complaint is valid, because if we are going with a shortened field then our FEES should be shortned as well.

What "right" are you referring to if it isnt about equality?? You said "women deserve the right to play on the same size playing field". Insinuating that women should get the same treatment as men. When in truth, there are over 23 styles of flag football being offered by the USFTL and 17 of those styles play on shorten fields. And out of those 23 styles of play being offered, women only play in 3 of those styles. Only 8man ABCD, 35+, and 9man play on 100 yard fields. You made reference to women are not kids. By playing on a shorten field does not imply women are viewed any less. But by your outburst it does imply that the other 17 styles being offered are viewed as kids....

Soooooo how come we were given the option last year to play on a short field or on a 100yrd field. The View know your facts as well bc you can ask any coach that went to Nationals last year we were given the option. This is year it was this is what you are playing on.

The option of using a 100 yard field should never have been introduced, if it was. I really could not decipher what you were trying to say in your last sentence. But giving the option to play and its "our right" to play on a 100 yard field are 2 different points.

Which are you defending??

AGAIN... My complaint is valid, because if we are going with a shortened field then our FEES should be shortned as well.

Last year the field was 100 yards, regardless of whether the option was given or not. If USFTL will be using shortened fields, then they need to shorten the FEES... PERIOD.

And View... you shouldn't talk about trying to decipher anyone's messages, b/c your's have been screwed up since you started replying.

This message was intended for Natalie or some other representative of USFTL. If the rulebook states shortened fields then so be it, but that should have been addressed prior to Nationals and for your information Canadian and OH teams did comment about the field size.

I stand corrected, with regard to the womens game the USFTL uses both the 100 yard fields as well as 40x80 yard fields. They also use the 5on5 and 4on4 size fields as well.

The USFTL will charge any variation of flag football that consists on more than 5 people on each team on the field at the same time the standard rate of $490, regardless of field size.

So again I say.....your point is mute..

For clarification, regarding the 80 yard fields, several years ago, USFTL decided to shorten the fields in an honest effort to increase the scoring percentage for women, not to take anything away from the. We here in the Dominating DMV are used to playing on 100 yard fields and posting good scores! ..if you think about it..it gives us an advantage against other teams if they aren't used to playing on 100 yard fields, but defensively, we have to be mindful to tighten up. My complaint about this past weekends championship games is the width of the field and the last of sideline afforded to both teams. It really was unsafe to have fields side by side and not only have two teams charing a side line and coaches not being able to speak aloud, instructions to their team without the other teams coaches all in their mouths i.e. New York TNT when they played us...( Lady Dominators.) and other problems that can arise then teams are chearing on their teams in the faces of the opposing team, it's just not good business. ) ...my main issue was in reference to the refs whistles..it was hard to tell whose whistle was for what..and balls that bounced onto the opposite fields..what the what? whose bright idea was that? Greed!!! each team needs it's own side line. Even at my school, where the fans stands are connected on the same side..the opposing teams goes to the opposite side of the field. If I recall correctly, the add for this year's tourney advertised/boasted new fields, more concessions and many other amenities I did not see. I was dissapointed. ..and let's not even talke about the fields in ohio...hot azz mess!!!
