Hey folks, trying to check to see who would be interested in going to the NWLA tournament in 2017. There are no guaranteed details, but anything related to playing rules is likely to change. Anything related to tournament play is subject to change.

Style of play:
-Pitching has no speed limit, and uses only unscuffed balls
-Rubber is 47.5' from the zone (ours is 45')
-Strike zone is smaller than ours (20" by 32", vs. 24" by 36") and lower (12" off the ground vs. 17")
-Only yellow bats are used.
-Base dimensions are the same as ours fence is ~80'
-Only three fielders forces at first are instead to the pitcher
-Lest we record 3 outs this way in 2017, if you take your foot off the base before the batter walks or hits the ball, you're out

Tournament Rules:
To make it to nationals, you must first advance through the regional round-robin tournament. Regionals in 2016 had 6 teams. To make it to nationals in 2016, you had to go 2-3. I would think that going 3-2 is what has to be done. We went 1-4. The nationals roster does not have to be the same as the regional roster.

I would like to go back in 2017, but I don't want to go unless we can win. I think the biggest things to make that happen are to practice the no-scuff pitching and the yellow-bat hitting.

So far, I know the following players have expressed interest: Berner-Hays, J. Pope, Welch, Winn, Winter.
