| I am a competition cheerleader
I dont do it for the attention
I dont do it to be cool
I do it because it's something i love
I spend hours a week practicing
I throw Power Baskets
I base Libs
I attempt things impossible to others
Then i get into my uniform
Pull my hair up
The squad goes to a room in the back
I hear the announcer tell us to come out
We stand infront of the blue mats
Every eye in the building stares at us
We are the center of attention
The announcer tells us to take the floor
My heartbeat grows faster
The tension in my stomach builds up
We stand there and wait in silence
He tells us we may begin
This is it, any second now
The smile on my face is bigger than ever
The music cuts on
We began our routine
5,6,7,8
The counts keep repeating through my head
My body does what we have been practicing for months
Nothing else matters at this point in my entire life
I forget about all my problems
all my worries go away
My facial expressions get more and more dramatic
We build our stunts
We tumble
Then it stops
The musics over
We're done in just a few moments
We show spirit
We yell for our squad
We are all happy
We have done so great
The sweat is pouring off my face
My ankles and wrist hurt so bad
But i dont pay atteation to that
I love what i do
