| This was posted on the American Cheerleader myspace and I thought it was really cute for the holidays! Also, American Cheerleader will be at the Contest of Champions competition in Feb. and gives out a Sportsmanship Award to the most deserving team. I know we all talk about being in the magazine, so why not attempt to get an award from the magazine itself!! How cool would that be?!?! Anyways, here's the poem .. enjoy!!
Twas the morning of competition…
Twas the morning of competition and all through the hotel,
Not a girl was yet stretching, not even one yell.
The bathrooms were filled with makeup and hair,
With nerves and excitement filling the air.
The cheerleaders were ready, and practice they did,
With visions of facials and a perfect pyramid.
With our coaches backstage and the judges up high,
We shakily walked forward to the announcer guy.
When out in the crowd we heard such commotion,
Inside our heads we practiced our motions.
Rehearsed our stunts, and prepared for the lights,
When suddenly we saw them, hundreds in sight.
We cheered and we smiled, and gave it our all,
As loud music played and supporters stood tall.
When finally we finished, our energy gone,
We got that big trophy because nothing went wrong.
The stress of competing had left our heads,
Until sometime next month when we'll do it again.
