We have posted rules on our bulletin board use about language, advertising businesses and advertisingother leagues. Posts that break these rules, of course, will be deleted. Posters with continued infractions will be cut off.

Adressing some issues:

Les - Two items.

1. Yes, our fields are smaller than others, and, of course, this means that it is easier to hit homeruns. So we have to use adjusted rules. A 12ft arc, unlimited homeruns and short porches do not mix.

While we do have three new fields'full-sized fields planned for the future, we already have some unique fields with the best turf around. Besides, the different dimensions can make it more fun than the cookie cutter fields that have popped up.

2. We do listen to our customers, in fact, we offer more feedback here than of any place I know. In fact, we even put a 12ft arc on the table, but only two teams went for it. But it's just not a good idea for our situation.

You can say, however, that we should have more fields available to us. On that we can agree, and that's what we are working toward.

Thank you Dave for responding to my post. And I would like to say that I have the utmost respect for all of you guy's that work for the city, however the truth of the matter is I have seen this city time and again undercut a limited arc league. We use to have one ( for two seasons) on wed nights and it was cut out, I was at the meeting when it happened. Also it was suggested that hook #3 be used to deal with the small field situation that you have at evedell.I remember the times that we where playing on hook#4 the field next to 5 and 3 which is even smaller than evedell.Hook 3 wasnt even in use not for soccer, kids baseball, or softball.Lights out no body home. Hey Dave thank's for allowing me to give some input good luck in everthing that you do.I do feel in my heart that your a good person. NDM out forever =)

I'll have to give up pitching, but I'd be willing to play. I'm too old for hardball, but fast pitch softball might be an option.

Or how about a wood bat, limited arc (6-8ft), slowpitch league. It would sure cut down on my bat expenses. A wood softball bat is only like $30!

Hardlinedrives, you're the man! I would love to run that! I really think that we could actually use wooden baseball bats. It would be a lot cooler, and easier to find.

Linda, great, I will make sure that we offer a women's fast pitch in the next Rec Pages

Instead of homeruns over the school, we'll get to watch the bats begin to explode into splinters as they wear out near the end of the season! Sweet!

Actually, wood softball bats can often be found at Big 5's, Walmarts, VSG, Ebay, etc. but you have to look because they only stock a couple at a time. They usually run about $19 to $30. I got mine for $19 at a Walmart down the hill to use for batting practice when I was slumping....I think softball.com has them too.

Keep me posted on the league......is there any way we could have it be 16 and over with parent waivers? I think that would be fun, like a father/son league but more open.

Yeah I was thinking about unlimited homeruns, but it's an out if your bat breaks into pieces
