Whats the deal! Adults got kick out of the park for soccer practice by that victorville youth soccer league. adults were using space where nobody was practicing. Yeat on wednesday night the victorville youth league that is not supossed to be there was there practicing, with people walking through the fields while the game was going on, we had to stop the games several times to kick people out of the fields. Is this Fair??? Is there something I'm missing??? what can we do about this!!!

I second that, if there is room for adults and youth alike, we should all be able to use Mesa Linda park with out and body abusing, hording space as it is a very large area of grass to play on.

We are aware of the situation.

As it stands right now, the City of Victorville Recreation Division has the fields on Wednesdays and Sundays. VVYSL has thefields on the other 5 days.

A few weeks ago I noticed that many youth soccer teams were practicing on Wednesday nights. We would soon start our youth flag football practices, so I reminded VVYSL that Wednesday night, according to our agreement, was reserved for the City of Victorville programs. They, in turn, told us that our teams were practicing during their scheduled times. They have been, as you are aware, more assertive in asking interloping teams to leave.

We do monitor the use of the fields, comparing the schedule requests with actual use to determine the best situation for the residents of Victorville.

There are a couple of other factors that come into play. First, the high desert climate vs the 12-month need for fields. It's a unique situation here in the desert. Ideally we'd like to have enough fields that we could close a field for a year to rehab. Second, since we have moved to Mesa Linda our adult soccer leagues have grown from 10-teams twice a year to 27-teams three times a year.

Thank you for your note.

We shouldn't cut off our noses, despite our faces. I think both sides need to give a little. If there is space, why not share it?

Yes Xavier, there should not be any youth soccer teams there on Wednesdays, however, you will see some youth City of Victorville flag football teams. I will cruise by on my way home Wednesday to make sure everyone is in his/her right place.

Well, it's not that they won't share, but that it's how some people share. If they or we allow a few people on, how do we stop extra people on until pretty soon there are so many you can't run your program. They pay for the lights so they can pick who is out there.

However, I have a solution! Softball has ended on Thursday nights @ Hook so I have a field availble for City of Victorville adult soccer teams. Thursdays from 6:45 until 9:45p on Hook #4.

Hope this helps. But again, this is only for City of Victorville Adult League teams.
